"The technician was extremely thorough. Replace the thermostat batteries and furnace filter (I provided the parts), checked for any carbon monoxide leaks, checked the condition of furnace components, and found some bare wires that he taped up."

"Mr. Bost did an excellent job for me for a reasonable price. I know he obtained the best deal for me on the furnace and the air conditioning unit. He answered all my questions. He was on the job when he said he would be; he was professional and courteous. The installation went smoothly, and I have had no problem with the furnace or air conditioner since they were installed in 2008."

"Got the Furnace tune up deal for Sila through Angie's List for $59 and scheduled appt less than 7 days, very smooth process. Technician was 3 min early. So I will just state the facts here and leave out the emotion. The tune up deals from Sila states: "Furnace tune-up includes: heat exchanger inspection; blower system; electrical components; ignition components; safety device inspection; checking gas pressure; flue connector inspection; temperature rise; filtration inspection; gas components inspection; combustion air inspection; condensate inspection; thermostat inspection; duct and piping inspection; checking overall system efficiency" What was definitely NOT done on list stated above was 1) Checking gas pressure and 2) Combustion air inspection. When I ask the technician Nate, about checking these items, his response was "Both tools were stolen and the company has not given him a replacement yet". Therefore no Manometer (tool to check gas pressure and pressure switch) or no Gas Combustion Analyzer to measure flue gas oxygen, carbon monoxide, stack temperature, and draft...AKA the bad gas levels. Technician didn't call for help for someone to deliver or assist him in the matter. A third thing to add is that Nate did NOT properly check the capacitor for the blower motor. The process was not done with the wires still connected to the capacitor when he did a meter test. Every furnace tune up I had said the capacitor should be disconnected to test. Also you can google how to properly test a capacitor as well to verify. Besides the 3 mention items, which are all important, not getting checked, Nate did perform the other items on the list. So Would I hire again....wish there was a 3rd option of maybe, but for now it is NOT a convincing yes. One guy who used to check my furnace made a statement when I felt cheated about a previous tune up compared to all the items he check and explained and found a failing capacitor I might add said this "A company is a good as its techs and 1 lazy tech says more about the tech which can be inferred to the company...AKA 1 bad apple in the bunch spoils the rest.""

"Ivan, from It's Phenomenal Air Heating and Cooling, was great. He was very professional and patient when answering our questions prior to accepting his quote to do the work. And additional bonus is that he recommended the Goodman A/C and heating systems, which get very good reviews and are not overly expensive. On the day of installation, he was very thorough and made sure the work was done properly. He also followed up with emails and made an additional visit to check the humidity levels in the house. We will definitely hire him and It's Phenomenal again for any other HVAC work and we recommend him to anyone else needing such work done."

"After several repairs over a couple of years we decided to replace our 14 year old central AC system with a new heat pump system. We got quotes from 3 companies, and decided to go with B.A.R. Appliances AC LLC based on past experience, extended warranty, and very competitive costs. The entire installation was efficient and professional. I found Henry and his staff a pleasure to deal with. They left me with a nice clean system and I would highly recommend B.A.R. Appliances AC LLC for any HVAC work. It's nice to have quality work done in this day and age!"

"Moved to a condo in Bel Air, MD in 2020. This year (2021), I wanted to purchase a service contract with an HVAC company to check the system twice a year for regular maintenance. I contacted two companies through their websites. The other company took a week to get back to me. Pure Air HAVAC in Bel Air, got back to me right away. They scheduled a fall inspection for a day that I knew I would be off work. Could not be happier. . Jason was the tech who came to my house. He was on time, knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and explained how my system worked and what to do to keep it working most efficiently. The visit went smoothly and accomplished my goals. Glad I signed up with Pure Air HVAC. . It would be wonderful if all service industries were as professional and efficient. Service: HVAC maintenance"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system service projects in Baltimore, MD

Most blower motors last 10 to 20 years—the same life span as the furnace or AC they serve. Annual tune-ups keep the bearings clean, the capacitor healthy, and your airflow strong. Call an HVAC pro if you hear grinding, smell burning, or notice weak airflow; catching issues early can save you from a pricier mid-season breakdown.

Plan on two to three hours for a standard swap. Your tech will cut power and gas, pull the old motor, slide in the new one, then test every setting before buttoning up the furnace. Tight quarters or extra part replacements can stretch the visit, but most homeowners are back to comfy airflow well before dinnertime.

Signs of a tired blower motor include weak airflow, unexplained spikes in energy bills, and new sounds—think grinding, rattling, or buzzing—coming from the furnace. If hot or cold air isn’t making it to your favorite chair, schedule an HVAC pro right away; catching the issue early can often mean a quick part swap instead of a full-blown system repair.

There is no difference between an AC and a furnace blower motor. Both systems use the same essential motor to circulate heated or cooled air through your home. This unit fulfills the identical role whether it supports central air conditioning or furnace heating. In some configurations, separate units might be installed for redundancy, yet their operating mechanism remains the same and efficiently delivers comfort throughout your home.
