"Dave Whispell (Project Mgr) and Ivan (installer) did a great job for me. They installed a full house Heat Pump system, along with all ducting to my new addition building, new gas lines and a new premium whole house tankless water heater along with all the electrical and venting. Their knowledge and expertise and financing flexibility was 1st class! Their follow up customer care was Gold Standard. I was so pleased with their 1st & 2nd job, I gave them a 3rd job for a 12K Mini Split heat pump on my ADU. They use top brands products backed by 10 & 12 year warranties and very honest service. They were amazing to work with after so many headaches with other contractors on other jobs. All jobs passed on 1st inspections. Highly recommended!"

"Great work! Keaton was able to diagnose and estimate a fix for my furnace. Came out the next day to replace a part and do some regular maintenance on the furnace and air conditioner. Very happy with the work."

"Chase came out to talk to us about what we wanted to have done. We had an extensive conversation about how to get all of the equipment installed properly and safely given the space available. His follow up communication was timely and thorough. He arrived to both the bid and install appointments on time and with everything needed to get the job done. He was very professional and did not leave a mess behind. We absolutely would have Elevate come back again. We have given Elevate's contact information to a couple of friends who have projects of their own that need to be done. 10/10 would work with again!"

"Sunset was great to work with from start to finish. The office team was prompt and communicated the entire way. The technician we worked with named Bill was super knowledgeable and friendly. We ended up choosing to move forward with a replacement of our furnace. The installer who came out was really efficient and reviewed his work with us. Super great installer! Highly recommend Sunset."

"The best and worst parts of America in 24 hours through the lens of plumbing... (preview Wollcot represents the worst part) With the exception of the initial interaction by our sales guy who was very helpful and is a sincerely nice person, we've spent the majority of our experience with Wollcot Plumbing, angry, frustrated and honestly scared by a lazy, self-entitled, COVID denying, POS plumber who completely screwed up a job and refused to take responsibility while pushing the timeline out weeks, cutting corners and blaming his inadequacies on anyone but himself... not to mention he had a terrible attitude and my wife was uncomfortable having him in the house. We were able to solve our problem within 24 hours by hiring someone not associated with Wollcot to finish parts of the job that they said would take weeks and cost thousands of unquoted additional dollars... Today I'm STOKED and inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of a 1st generation immigrant, completely fired up about his business (not associated with Wollcot whatsoever) His optimism and contagious enthusiasm were incredible. He cleaned up the majority of the stuff Wollcot messed up and fixed additional problems along the way that Wollcot didn't communicate of offer solutions for. Couldn't be further from the Wollcot service we received. Honestly this experience for at something deeper for me, what American ideals should be about.. the land of opportunity and possibilities where hard work, collaboration, and genuine enthusiasm stand for something. NOT the Land of conspiracies, blame, entitlement, misplaced patriotism, and what-aboutism. (That is what we got from Wollcot plumbing) Our experience suggests working with anyone other than Wollcot."

FAQs for ducts & vents installation and replacement projects in Beaverton, OR

Return air vents aren't required in every room, but proper placement is essential for system efficiency. According to industry standards, you'll need one return vent for every 100 to 150 square feet of living space. Ideally, each room would have its own return vent, especially larger rooms exceeding 100 square feet.

Without adequate return airflow, your HVAC system works harder, energy costs increase, and comfort decreases. A professional assessment can determine the optimal number and placement of return vents for your specific home layout.

Signs that your home needs additional return air vents include rooms that feel consistently stuffy, noticeable temperature variations between rooms, doors that slam shut when the HVAC system operates, or unexpectedly high energy bills. Excessive dust accumulation around supply vents can also indicate inadequate return airflow.

If you experience these issues, consulting with an HVAC professional can help determine if adding return vents would improve your system's performance.

Supply vents deliver conditioned air into your living spaces, while return air vents draw room air back to your HVAC system for reconditioning. Supply vents push treated air into rooms, while return vents pull air from rooms back toward your heating and cooling equipment.

Both components are essential for proper air circulation and system balance. Without sufficient return capacity, your HVAC system may experience pressure imbalances that reduce efficiency and comfort.

You should inspect and clean your return air vents at least once annually, according to industry recommendations. However, homes with pets, allergy sufferers, or noticeable dust buildup may benefit from more frequent cleaning.

Regular maintenance helps maintain good indoor air quality and ensures your HVAC system operates efficiently. Professional duct cleaning, which addresses the entire system beyond just the visible vents, is recommended every few years, depending on your home's specific conditions.
