"It was late afternoon on Friday, and a holiday weekend, when I noticed that my house was getting warmer. Two AC companies came up on Home Advisor. The first company sent an email with a calendar for a Monday appt. Right after I pushed the send button my phone was ringing. The second company, One Hour Heating and AC , was calling to setup an appointment for that day. Hunter showed up at 9pm(drove about an hour from York). He didn't have good news for us but he was very nice and explained the problem and our options thoroughly. Today, Saturday, Jerry came to explain our options for a new A/C. Hopefully we are getting a reasonable price and a good product. I guess time will tell but the people that I have talked to on the phone and the men who have come to my house have been very nice and professional to deal with. Our new A/C will be installed on Tuesday. Because we have to provide a star rating I'm only putting 3 out of 5 stars for value for money. I do not know how to rate this because the A/C hasn't even been installed yet. If we are happy with everything I will edit or update this rating at a later time."

"It was a superb experience. From the visit by Bruce the sales representative to the installation day to the follow-up from Petro, every single person we interacted with was helpful and professional. When Bruce arrived to do the assessment, we spent time going over the heating needs in the house. After a thorough inspection and measurement of the house, we sat down. He showed me a few options, all of which were going to provide good service. I ordered a unit at the end of that meeting. The installation day was just terrific- the entire work crew that showed up were everything I would hope to find: Upbeat, informative, hard-working, focused. The job was finished before end of day as promised. The heater room is now immaculate, with new piping and a new heater. It was like watching a pit crew at a NASCAR race. Everyone had their tasks, they moved carefully but quickly. The materials were all laid out in order, etc. Just a totally professional approach to their work. The crew boss answered any questions I had. The follow-up for a normal inspection of the furnace chimney was scheduled the day after the installation. I’ve gotten calls to insure we are satisfied with the work. Satisfied barely covers it- I am pleased to write this kind of review. "Within an hour of purchasing the advertised special, Henry from B A R called us to set up an appointment for service. He seemed knowledgeable and showed up promptly to our appointed time. After working on the unit for about an hour he determined that the unit had died and there was no hope reviving it - it was 14 years old after all. WIthin a few days Henry was back and installed our new unit. Around the time he installed our unit, our second unit died. We had him replace it as well. The work was done in a timely manner and we have been completely satisfied. We would definitely hire B A R Appliances again for our HVAC needs."

"I did not have the work done. I rated C because the staffer seemed to know what he was talking about. When quoted a higher price, around $400.00, versus what I had planned, I deferred. The higher price included a "deep cleaning" extending beyond the ducts. I felt unprepared and pressured."

"It cost me nothing. Because I purchased the service contract with UGI, when I did need service work done it cost me zero. It's been a very positive experience so far. The timeliness is good. When I called them, they came the same day. They got a repair part and brought it back the next day. My furnace was not down very much at all. Very quick service. Very professional. Just a very good overall positive experience. I can't say anything negative at all. I would absolutely use them again."
