"I got 5 quotes for a new furnace and AC in Uptown Chicago and TDH was the lowest and most responsive. Tim responded to my questions and got back to me over the weekend. I hired them and they installed the new units that week. His team was professional and did a great job and I would definitely hire them again."

"    I purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal" on 3/25/2015 for a complete air duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning from Veteran Air Cleaning Services, LLC.  I made phone contact with the owner Joshua Zajac and set up a cleaning date for 3/31/2015 between 12-2PM. I received a confirming phone call the day before and a phone call from Karl that he would arrive about 12:15PM.  Karl, (co-owner), and Nick arrived precisely at 12:15 PM.  They began inspecting my 16 supply and 6 return outlets, taking photos of the interior ducts. They also inspected my forced air furnace and filter.  After all this they came to the conclusion that I did not need a complete air duct cleaning at this time. They did make a recommendation that I use a RED HEPA air filter, instead of the BLUE, I was using, because the blue was more dense and restricted air flow, causing the blower motor to work harder and could cause a motor failure sooner.  Also, they said I did not need a dryer vent cleaning after taking photos inside the vent.
To say the least, I was blown away by their honesty!!  They could have proceeded to "clean" my air ducts for 2-3 hours and I would not have been the wiser.  These 2 "GENTLEMEN" are a credit to their profession!  I wish all of our contacts with the professional trade were so good.  This company goes to the top of my list for any future needs in their field of expertise.
I would recommend this company to family and friends!!

"Fantastic work. He explained what needed to be fixed and even mentioned how he usually replaces both springs, but didn't need to in our case unless we wanted to. Quality work, and would definitely hire again for any appliance repair."

"I had worked with several HVAC contractors in the past few years, and finally I found Bernard that is both honest and very knowledgeable. Our furnace broke down during the weekend. We had a service call from company A in the morning. The recommendation was to replace induce motor (~700 usd), or the whole unit. I called Azrikam to get another quote for comparison. When Bernard came, he fixed the unit in 5 minutes. It turns out there is no need for replacing the induce motor, he can fix it with simple tools. What a difference! It not only saved me money, but also spared my family a few cold nights! I really appreciate Bernard's honesty and expertise!"

"It is hard to rate this category of work. I will say the price was excellent, the worker showed up on time, and he was very professional in every manner. But, his English was extremely limited, so we were unable to question him about the job. I couldn't understand if the job went well..couldn't look at the "before" and "after" pictures, so I truly have no idea if the vents were dirty and how well they are cleaned now. I am at the mercy of the company on whether the job was successful or not. I assume that it is. The language barrier was a real hindrance to the project. I did extensive review of the company and found fantastic reviews of their work, so I have to trust they did the same for us. I gave a rating of "A" on the job, based upon this trust, the price, and the professionalism shown by the technician."

You won't find a better computer technician/computer builder than Jim Ferrell. I have been using his services for years and he has come to my rescue many times. When my computers crash, he helps me recover my data when no one else can. Recently he built me a computer specially designed for my needs and it works great. He got me better quality parts than they give you at places like Dell, and at really great prices. He has made house calls for me before and he has fixed my computer remotely via Internet access many times, which is very convenient. Other companies on the Internet claim to provide computer repair service via Internet access, but many of them are scammers (I have fallen prey to that myself, and my computer crashed as a result) but Jim is honest and trustworthy, so know that you don't have to worry about him taking advantage of you in any way. He will even take the time to teach you how to avoid scammers and other malicious things like viruses, which most computer technicians won't do. I recently purchased his monthly maintenance services. Every month he checks out my computer via the Internet and scans for anything malicious and looks at the overall function, and now I can rest easier knowing that Jim is watching over my computer's health. In today's world, you may feel like there is no one you can trust with your computer, your data, your personal financial info, or even your identity, but Jim is one person that you can indeed trust.

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Big Rock, IL

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
