"Had a leaky pipe, called Whitman Plumbing in the afternoon. William had a plumber at my home first thing the next morning. He showed up right on time and was courteous and helpful. The work was done quickly and correctly and for a fair price. The next time I need a plumber Whitman Plumbing will be who I call."

"I think the ratings speak for themselves. Water heater went out while I was on vacation. Pipe Dreams came out to inspect and explained on phone what needed to be done. He shut it all down and drained tank. I called when I got home over a month later to schedule replacement. Not sure it was a great price; I only got one other estimate because I really wanted to have the same company who installed original, and it was still under warranty. I knew I could trust him. The other estimate was lower, but I am satisfied with my decision, His price was very close to his estimate and he was very professional. (I can't speak for the quality of a water heater that does't even last 5 years)"

"First they came in and unclogged our drain. When we were still having problems they came back and ran a camera down the line and discovered a buildup that had narrowed the diameter of the pipe. They had to go outside, dig a hole, take out a bush, and descale the pipe. They came back and ran the camera again and discovered a clog on a side line. They ended up having to be here all day. They cleaned everything up and even replanted the bush which is still living! We were very happy with them and they are certainly my husband's company of choice for plumbing jobs."

"The service went well. They were very willing to make sure the installation went well. We had a little concern on where to run the vent pipes and they made sure I was happy with the placement. I was happy with their service overall."

"Great work! Highly recommended. I bought their Angieslist deal, and they were able to come and do the work that same morning. Completely replaced a 1950s bathtub valve and the fixtures. The plumber was friendly, knowledgable and professional. I felt the price was fair for the time spent and quality of the work done. "

"I called to schedule the appointment and was the told the technician would call me back.  He called the same day and we agreed on the date and time for him to come down.  He was right on time.  He spread a tarp out on the hearth of the fireplace and the carpet around it to keep it clean  which I really appreciated.  He adjusted the valve and cleaned around the pilot light to fix the problem.  He spent some time also educating me on the proper procedure to lighting the fireplace and maintaining the area around the valve.  He completed the job without getting any soot or dirt at all on the hearth of the carpet. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Camby, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
