The tech took the samples and submitted them to the lab, which apparently "lost" them, which I didn't find out about until after the expected time to receive the report had past, thus ruining the timeline that had been put together to deal with the situation (this was for a home that was about to list for sale, and I needed to know asap whether it could list or needed to be held back for remediation). To their credit, they ended up not charging me for the sample-taking (as I did not receive any results), and they were not able to revisit the property on a schedule that was quick enough to suit my needs. The other frustrating part was that they made very dire-sounding comments about the property, which were totally unfounded. The problem at the property was trivial (this was verified by subsequent testing), and no actual on-going problem existed and there was no need for destructive inspection or major renovation. And yet the tech had essentially said, "well, we can demo the bathroom", i.e. suggesting that spending $3k-5k was what I should do, and would need to do. It felt like it was an attempt to coerce me into a major expense unnecessarily."
