Included in the estimates was also addition work I requested. All of the work was done the following Monday. The new unit is 2.0 SEER2 better than the old unit. Bradham Brothers included a new programmable thermostat with WiFi access. They also provided two new CO2 detectors. The county inspector was pleased with their work. All total, Bradham Brothers exceeded my expectations."

"My upstairs air conditioner had not been working well and increasingly had trouble cooling the area, with sky high electric bills ensuing, until it just blew out (warm) air.  It reached 84 degrees in my upstairs office and even hotter in our TV room.  I called our warranty company and they referred me to American Air.  I was hesitant to use this company because I'd heard horror stories about companies that warranty companies refer you to.  The warranty had been inherited from the prior homeowner which I had just recently, but not whole-heartedly, renewed.  However as an Angie's list member I decided to look up the reviews and was very pleasantly surprised with all the tremendous reviews and from mostly warranty customers.  So I hired them and they did not disappoint.  
Chris Jones arrived less than 24 hours after the call was made and within the time window estimated.  He was professional, honest, knew what he was doing and taught me a few things.  My air filters had not been changed in 6 months (embarrassing!) and some of them were really dirty.  He said that filters should be replaced between 1 and 3 months when they begin to show any little bit amount of darkening and that when filters are dirty it makes your system work harder.  So that was a good lesson.  Also the system is 14 years old and is probably working on borrowed time since he explained systems last between 10 - 12 years so replacement could be in the future.  The system was also low on refrigerant which was added, he tightened some valves and cycled the system.   He said to see how things go within the next month or so since there could be other issues going on such as a leak in the system.  So maybe this was a stop-gap measure....not really sure.
Chris said it would take about 24 hours to cool things down.  Much to my delight this morning the air temp has already reached the setting.  What relief!  
We also spoke of a service agreement and I plan to sign up and request Chis in the future.

"R&B is awesome. We met R&B Climate Control not long after purchasing a new home. We had lost Air Conditioning due to faulty wiring. We hired another company to fix our AC and they replaced a junction box for $300.00. This repair held for a couple of days. I was traveling for work when the unit went out again one evening. It was a hot summer night and my wife and kids were miserable in the heat. I found Russell the owner of R&B and he was there within the hour. He found the wiring problem was in our main circuit breaker, tightened the screw and was done for the cost of a service call. I have since referred R&B to friends saving them money. "I cannot say enough good things about them. They are the only ones authorized in this area to put an aresol inside the air vents. It seals little air  leaks in your vents. It also gives protection against future mold, that kind of thing. Signature Exteriors referred me to them. They did their job exactly the way they were supposed to. They were aware. I have dogs and they were aware, don't just open the front door, the dog might get out. They were here long enough that I couldn't just lock the dogs out. You've got these big fans and blowers and all that. They took such care with my house. It's big major equipment that can only be so dainty with it. They did their best.
We still have one more piece to do. The first thing they do is they clean all of your vents. That is included in the price to putting the aresol treatment in. The aresol treatment, there's a computer to tell it what it's doing and when it's done. Getting it set up is the biggest part of the job. It takes about 2 hours to clean up all the vents and that kind of thing. The computer comes on and says, yes you have things in good shape or no you still have a gap somewhere. Well, they came last week and on the downstairs the computer kept saying you've got a gap and the man the came up to me and said, Ma'am it says that you have a 27 square inch hole somewhere in all your venting. I said, oh my gosh, let me just pay you. You spent half a day and you didn't get to do your job but that's on me not on you and he said, no, ma'am, we're going to find the hole. Well, again, all this is closed up. They start taking out the vents, using their flashlights and using their cell phones to photograph all throughout the venting of the downstairs of my house until they find a phantom vent. When the house was built 31 years ago, they closed off where a vent was supposed to go. I have been heating and cooling the gap where the downstairs ceiling and the upstairs floor, I don't know how many square feet that is, we've been heating and cooling this for 30 years. So, they said, here, let us email you the photos and let us talk to our boss. We know that we don't do this kind of thing but somebody needs to take care of this. I said that I wanted to pay them and he said there is no way we are going to charge you to get nothing done. He said, you let you know when the vent is replaced and I'll send the guys out and they'll finish the job they came to do."
