"An honest, excellent overall experience.  The technician was on time, did a thorough inspection/cleaning and answered any questions I had.  He accidentally broke a small part, immediately notified me, and replaced it on the spot after obtaining a replacement.  He did not try to upsell or otherwise attempt to get me to buy anything else.  A lot of companies use this opportunity to try and sell you a new furnace/A.C. even though you may not need it.  An impressive experience and I will definitely use this company in the future.

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

"We called them in to do a tune-up on our furnace before winter. Of course, the service guy found cracks in our heat exchanger and told us we needed a new furnace (although the furnace was over 20 years old). We agreed that we needed to replace the exisitng unit, agrred on a price, signed the contract, and scheduled a date. Installation was on-time and went very smoothly. Technicians were very professional and cleaned up afterthemselves. I would highly recommend."

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Chesterton, IN

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
