"On April 15 the temperature fell from upper 60s to freezing. For some reason our bedroom heating unit has a problem in turning on the furnace if there is a sudden drop in temperature/pressure. Usually shutting it down and restarting solves the issue. Not this time though. We spent the night in living area were the other unit was working. In the morning I called couple of places and Select AC was the only provider to call back promptly. (This is a consistent indicator of good service. Any provider who returns your call promptly invariably ends up providing good service. ) . One of the other service providers  I called said they were taking appointments for "next friday" which was 10 days later. I appreciate the fact that they are so busy that they could not handle the volume but to suggest someone requesting a repair that they had to wait 10 days is downright silly.  In any case,  Billy (I hope I got the name right) from Select AC called me promptly and said he will look at the issue and take care of it the same day. During the day we exchanged calls to get a rough idea about the time he will come over. Billy outlined his schedule for the day and we figured he can make it more or less in the evening after 3pm. In the evening I drove back from work early to be at home at the time of service. I decided to give one more try and tried to turn on the heat. Voila! The furnace turned on without any issue. I didn't cancel the appointment as I wanted Select AC to check out the system as we did not want to get stranded again on a cold night. 
Billy was professional and courteous. He checked the systems in attic and mentioned everything was working fine. The flame sensor had carbon build up so he cleaned it. He gave some pointers for future reference and we will definitely keep that in mind if the issue arises again. I paid a total of $100 which included the service fee and Angies list discount. I felt it was an excellent price for service offered. If only all service providers provided such honest estimates and charges. We will definitely use Select AC again and recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

"First of all, I found them as a "Big Deal" last year, to come out and check out my A/C unit. They were very professional. They discovered a small freon leak, added some parts, and freon, and went on their way. I was impressed, wrote a nice review, and even recommended them to my son, and his wife, who used them to check out the A/C at their new(to them) house, recently.
Well, before I could call them out for this year's check, my unit stopped blowing cold air. When they came out, it was discovered that the leak had gotten much worse, and given the cost of adding more of the old style freon(the unit was over 20 years old), I decided to replace the unit. They showed me it would be more efficient, for my heating, if I also went with a heat pump, so I opted for that, as well. The installers were there two days later, and quickly installed both the inside, and outside units. Now after they left, I discovered a water leak. The inside unit sits right over my bathtub, and it was dripping, fairly significantly. The first attempt to fix it didn't work, so Larry and his man came out, quickly discovered the real problem, which was a blocked condensate tube, and fixed it. While they were here, they also discovered that when the unit shut off, there was an odd grinding noise, which I'd noticed, but hadn't thought much about. They made an adjustment to the fan, and voila, no noise. Of course, there was no charge for this visit, and they even waived the original service call fee. In addition, the new unit included a programmable thermostat.
Overall, I'm very impressed with Larry, and his company, and will continue to recommend them wherever possible. They are knowledgable, professional, do quality work, and when something does go wrong, they fix it as soon as possible. For any service company, it doesn't get any better than that.

"I did hire this company to fix my heating problem. Service was awesome! David from DR Air and Heat Services responded within minutes of my request for help. My heater went out in my home. The outside unit was iced over. I had no emergency heat. David determined that I had the wrong thermostats in my home. He quickly replaced and programmed the thermostats. He found a rusty water tray in my attic that was overflowing and rusty. The air filtration system was damaged and he is going to help me avoid a potential disastrous situation, had he not found this now. The water tray was overflowing and rusted. Mold was growing. I have heat tonight! Tomorrow or Saturday I will have a whole new system for a reasonable price. He is going to replace the tray and not charge for one of the thermostats (shhhh.). They provided same-day service (at end of June!) when the largest AC Service provider (you would recognize their name) could not schedule an appointment less than 10 days out. On top of that, Prime AC ended up replacing a 2.5 year old system which the "largest AC Service provider" installed previously which had a 1-year labor warranty. Watch out for those 1-year labor warranties, because it means the provider has no confidence in what they are installing! Prime AC recommended a solution to address the specific needs of my problem with a ten-year warranty, parts AND LABOR! They were very thorough with the install and the system works great. I would recommend this company to anyone experiencing AC issues. They are honest, hard-working, and reasonable...nice to see that still exists in some AC companies."
