"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"The work done in 2015 went well. The crew showed up on time and did a great job. We had installed a standard leaf guard, but the flow of water was still too great for this particular gutter, and it overflowed. The owner came out, and swapped out the leaf guard with a "gutter brush" this keeps the leaves out, but allows the water to flow into the gutter. He did this free of charge. In 2017, the crew again showed up on time and did a great job. They noticed that one of the gutters needed some paint touch up and did that without me asking them to do it. Great service! We will always use JB Masters for our gutter needs."

"We got 4 other quotes for getting our house painted, and ended up choosing the Paint Doctor. They don't have a huge painting team or marketing team, and their quotes came in the lowest (by FAR). We weren't concerned about having our house finished in three days, and did not like the idea that part of our cost would be paying for a marketing team (one of the competitor companies STILL calls me about once a month to see if I am interested after telling them "no" a year ago). After our initial consultation, Chad showed up to start cleaning and prepping our house. He was meticulous and methodical, and took his time. We thought our house was in "okay" shape, but he spent countless hours examining and prepping/caulking every surface of our house. The painting process was pretty standard. It wasn't a "three day in and out process", but we didn't expect that, or mind. We knew we weren't paying for a team of 5-7 painters. The best part of the Paint Doctors? Chad spent HOURS going over every single surface of our house with us, making sure we didn't see ANY imperfection. Chad said "three sets of eyes are better that one". We really appreciated him spending all the time with us making sure everything was absolutely perfect. Chad is professional and smart, and has a great sense of humor. Several of our neighbors have stopped by and admired their work, and we full heartedly recommend the Paint Doctors to everybody."

"Door Replacement - more work than originally thought but was due to change in codes requiring fire rated door. Since an interior door was being replaced with an exterior door there was a size difference which required reframing the door jam. They walked me through the process of why and how and proceeded.
Deck repairs - more damage that orginally known as structural members were not exposed. Once exisitng stairs were remove there was considerable rot. Offered alternate solutions for handrail. Discussed material options. Provided game plan for repair. Purchased needed materials. Deck repairs completed and handrail added.
Existing electrical outlet changed out to provide plug for garage door opener that had been installed using an extension cord.
The work was more time intense but they stuck with the job until completed in the same in order to work with my travel schedule.
Great all around knowledge of the construction trades. Methodical and kept a clean job site. Kept me up to speed on each project.
Would not hesitate to hire for other work."

"The owner and I discussed the paint job and I told him we just had new vinyl floors installed in the 3 bedrooms and the floors needed to be covered. The floors were only covered with a drop cloth against the walls. There were small paint splatters in the middle of the rooms in the area not covered. Let me say I was not happy. The painters should have covered the whole rooms as they were empty of furniture. The painters rolled on the paint for the most part but the little splatters of paint that comes from the nap of the rollers was not considered. It ended up on the new vinyl floor."

FAQs for carpentry framing installation projects in Cripple Creek, CO

Professional contractors complete basement framing in three to five days, depending on the size and complexity of your space. Projects with simple, open layouts progress faster than those with multiple rooms and corners. DIY framers should expect the job to take significantly longer, potentially seven to 10 days or more, depending on experience level and available time. The timeline doesn't include other aspects of basement finishing like drywall installation, electrical work, or finishing touches, which extend the overall renovation schedule.

Most municipalities require building permits for basement framing projects. These permits cost between $1,200 and $2,000, ensuring your renovation meets local building codes for safety and structural integrity. Working without proper permits can result in penalties, forced removal of completed work, and complications when selling your home. Your local building department can provide specific information about permit requirements, inspection schedules, and any special considerations for basement renovations in your area.

For basement framing, use pressure-treated lumber for bottom plates (the horizontal boards that contact concrete floors) to prevent moisture damage and rot. Standard kiln-dried lumber is suitable for wall studs and top plates that don't directly contact concrete surfaces. The most common lumber dimension for basement wall framing is two-by-four, though some situations may call for two-by-six lumber to accommodate thicker insulation. Always check local building codes, as some jurisdictions have specific requirements for basement framing materials.

You can install drywall after framing is complete and inspected, but several important steps should happen first. Ensure any electrical, plumbing, or HVAC rough-ins are completed and inspected before closing up walls. Installing insulation between studs is highly recommended for temperature control and moisture management. Drywall installation adds an average of $3 to $4 per linear foot to your project, with painting costing an additional $2 to $6 per square foot. Address any moisture concerns before enclosing walls to prevent future damage and mold issues.
