Steve Pratt, the owner of the company, came over on a Sunday and gave a valid explanation on the delay in responding.  He immediately took care of our damper problem and did an excellent job in checking on what was needed to stop the birds from nesting in the chimney.  He put through the order for a new hood and did a wonderful job in temporarily cleaning out the debris from the nesting which could have started a fire.

He spent time explaining the issues to my husband and I, showing us photos he'd taken and answering all of our questions. "It is hard to rate this category of work. I will say the price was excellent, the worker showed up on time, and he was very professional in every manner. But, his English was extremely limited, so we were unable to question him about the job. I couldn't understand if the job went well..couldn't look at the "before" and "after" pictures, so I truly have no idea if the vents were dirty and how well they are cleaned now. I am at the mercy of the company on whether the job was successful or not. I assume that it is. The language barrier was a real hindrance to the project. I did extensive review of the company and found fantastic reviews of their work, so I have to trust they did the same for us. I gave a rating of "A" on the job, based upon this trust, the price, and the professionalism shown by the technician."

"Good experience. John, the owner, arrived on time. I told him the chimneys hadn't been cleaned in at least five years. One fireplace is gas, the other is wood-burning (mostly three-hour logs). He used protective tarps in the areas around the fireplaces. The gas-burning fireplace cleaning went quickly and wasn't too dirty. The wood-burning fireplace/chimney took longer. John said it was pretty dirty. He used a good vac to suck out the dirt and soot. After the cleaning, he did visual inspections and took digital photos with his smartphone. Then, he used his ladder to go up on the roof and inspect both chimneys. He also too photos. Then, he came back in, gave me an itemized bill. I gave him a check for payment. Each chimney cleaning was $99 plus tax. He showed me the digital photos on his iPad and discussed what additional services/repairs should be done to maintain the chimneys and the associated costs. He later emailed me the report and estimate. I rarely use the wood-burning fireplace. That one needs the most repair work. He recommended using only three-hour logs in that fireplace and keeping the fires small and in the back of the fireplace. He said to get a smaller fireplace grate.
