"I don't normally make recommendations, but I felt compelled to tell you about our front door glass repair by Trimble Studios. Amazing work! Our stained glass was coming apart in multiple ways and we were one door slam away from having shattered glass in our entry way. Thankfully we don't have grumpy teenagers (yet). Carl Trimble and his team took the glass out and installed a temporary board. He then took the glass back to his studio, rebuilt the lead pieces, rebuilt a few cracked glass pieces, properly built a support bar, and two weeks later, popped it right back into our front door. Beautiful work! And very reasonably priced! I figured many of you with houses from the 80's may need similar repairs due to wear and tear over the years and I highly recommend Trimble Studios. Here's our after picture and three before pictures."

"This company did an outstanding job from start to finish. They kept my wife and me informed on when they were coming to pick up the mirror and when they were coming to bring back the repaired mirror. I highly recommend this company to any and everyone who stands in need of glass and mirror replacement. Tim and his brother are great people!"

"Steve was very responsive in returning my calls. Called when he was on his way to my house. He gave me an estimate and within 10 days the new glass was in my windows. He and his partner were very nice and did a great job installing the glass and cleaning up."

"They rescheduled several times after they couldn't keep original appointment. Windows look great. They did break an antique when their ladder fell inside the house. They didn't offer to compensate or replace it."

"We had a broken pane in our stained glass door. Brenda took it to her studio and repaired it along with other fixes because the door was originally very poorly constructed. In addition, she replaced the center with gorgeous red textured stained glass. The reinstall was very difficult due to the mistakes within the door frame made long ago by another person. She brilliantly worked through the issues, and the result is magnificent! It's totally upgraded our house. I highly highly recommend Caristica Design Studios!"

FAQs for stained or specialty glass service projects in Dallas, TX

To clean stained glass, dampen a soft, lint-free cloth with warm distilled water and gently wipe the surface. Skip ammonia or vinegar cleaners—they can pit the glass and weaken solder. Work in small sections, supporting the panel if it’s loose. Once dry, gently buff the piece with a microfiber towel. This gentle approach preserves colors vividly and keeps joints intact.

Give your stained glass a quick once-over each year to catch cracks, chips, fading colors, or loose hardware before they snowball into costly repairs. A professional inspection every five years is also a good idea; specialists can spot hidden structural problems and reinforce joints that you might miss. This routine keeps the panel secure, vibrant, and less expensive to maintain in the long run.

1800s or early 1900s—especially those associated with renowned studios—can fetch thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, due to their artistry and rarity. Newer reproductions rarely carry the same market value, but they still add character and color to your home. Appraisers or specialized dealers can give you a precise estimate before you decide on repairs or insurance.

Repair timelines depend on size, design complexity, and the technique required. Minor crack fills or paint touch-ups can be completed in a few hours, while full restorations—where every pane and component is disassembled—may take several weeks to complete. Craftspeople work slowly and methodically to protect fragile glass, ensuring the finished piece looks and functions as intended for decades to come.
