"What a great recommendation! Both gentlemen were knowledgeable and professional. They explained everything to me, answered all my questions and definitely went the extra mile in finding things in my older house. Was glad to become a member of the Cardinal Family plan and have the ease of mind to have all my house needs taken care of by just one local company! Definitely call them for any household system repair or replacement or just professional ideas or answers!"

"After trying several other HVAC service companies, I have been using Kettle Moraine HVAC for many years now In the past they have always been very professional and quick to react to help out with any problem that has come up. This service call was a furnace/humidifier tuneup for what is a ‘new’ system for us due to a move. Doug was very prompt and had all items necessary for the job. I greatly appreciated his professional and that he took the time to show me what he was doing and to instruct me in what I should be looking for to prevent problems. He was also very patient in showing me what I can do to help my system to continue to run efficiently and effectively. I highly recommend Kettle Moraine HVAC."

"Our 1983 furnace went out unexpectedly. Clark Heating quickly responded, educated and thoughtfully guided us on our choices, and put in the new equipment the day after we made the choices. They went above and beyond what was expected in repairing, replacing, and retrofitting in our somewhat complicated 1941 house and returned in a timely fashion to tweak the system. And when they saw I wanted to scrub the floor under the old furnace before the new one was installed, they even took it upon themselves to thoroughly scrub the area outside where the new air conditioner was installed without me asking. Truly a pleasure to work with!"

"Justin took care to not over sell me. Only what I needed and understood. The install team were tidy, efficient, and educated me about the safety approaches when changing the humidifier filter. That filter and the furnace filter are the same that was used on my old system. They were professional and personable."

"Very prefessional and thorough. Left my place clean after the install, and even loaned me some goo-be-gone from their toolbox for a project that I was working on while they were installing my furnace. They reviewed what they did at the end, and gave me a card so that I could call with any issues. Would highly recommend Sears and their contractors."

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Dane, WI

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
