He was quick to diagnose the problem (Condensation Pump) and resolved the issue. I asked him to return to do a cleaning/maintenance on the unit later that week which he promptly did and replaced the pump. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him to maintain or repair any problems you may have related to AC."

"EXCELLENT SERVICE .. I called Gabe on Thursday 7/25/24, MID AFTERNOON.. asked if he could come out TODAY.. he said YES ! Other companies I called REFUSED to come until the NEXT DAY OR BEYOND . They promptly showed up diagnosed my problem on the old unit .. I decided to go with a complete new HVAC system .. "Comfort by Design did a fantastic job with my water heater from start to finish. When I called, the receptionist was highly knowledgeable about scheduling and pricing, and she was quite willing to let me call other places since I was researching price and availability. I ended up sticking with Comfort by Design largely because the receptionist was not pushy, listened well to me, and had technicians available that day. I like hiring companies with whose employees listen to me and work with me to solve a problem, as opposed to pressuring me to choose them or to buy more than I'm comfortable with. My initial interaction with Comfort by Design met those criteria. A technician arrived within the time-frame I was quoted, and he had the part I thought was broken on my water heater. After diagnosing the issue, though, he discovered that there was at least one other broken/malfunctioning part that needed to be replaced. He showed me the problem and explained the process of replacing it. After discussing my options with the technician, I decided to replace the water heater. At no point did I feel pressured into making that decision. The best surprise of the day was that Comfort by Design was able to replace the water heater immediately. Another technician was available to immediately bring the water heater, and the two techs worked together to install the new one and remove the old one. They also carted the old one away. Before leaving, they patiently answered several other questions I had, and they explained and scheduled the necessary inspection of their installation. They did a great job respecting my property while moving the large water heaters, and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Finally, the cost was reasonable and about what I expected to pay. Custom by Design is definitely going to be the first place I call should I have any plumbing or HVAC (they also do HVAC!) needs in the future."

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

"They lacked of bit of responsiveness in regard to contacting me about delays or times they would be there. I missed 2 days of work waiting for them, the first day they didn't call to tell me they weren't going to show up because the motor they ordered was not the correct one, and the second day they overbooked a job so they arrived late in the afternoon. The repair Tech however was very nice and professional. They just need to work on their customer service skills, like letting the customer know of any delays."

"After the 100+ temperature week we had in San Antonio, our AC struggling to cool, so we finally gave in and decided to make a call for insulation. We could feel the heat in the walls form the sun, so we spoke to Manuel at Insulation Works asking for a quote for wall insulation. He explained that while he could install insulation in the walls, it was likely not the problem, he suspected it was really our attic that needed insulation. He came to our home and gave us a quote for the walls and the attic. The attic had 2-4 inches of insulation while CPA recommends 13.5 inches. Our attic definitely needed some attention too. He explained how the walls cost much more to insulate but he really thinks we could get the best value just doing the attic which will not only cost less but would also cool the entire house, not just the rooms we added the wall insulation to. He explained how if we got attic insulation, we may not even want wall insulation, so he recommended we wait on the walls, and he could come back later if we decided we still wanted them done. The team, Manuel and Mari, came over and got to work within 2 days. They were both so very nice, friendly and professional. They wrapped my furniture and the floors to protect it from any dust or damage. They even brought corner protectors to protect my walls from any potential damage. They had all the professional machinery and tools needed to get the attic done quickly and correctly. In the end I had 17-18 inches of insulation in my attic. They quickly cleaned up and even vacuumed although there was not much of any mess I could even see. The team worked with me on filling out the rebate from CPS and even worked it out from our estimate. We didn't even know there was a rebate available. It felt like we were dealing with family even though we didn't know them before we made that call. We immediately felt a difference in the house and now that it's the day after it's amazing how much cooler the house is, and my AC is not having to work so hard. I don't even feel like the walls needed to be insulated anymore! He was right! There are so many companies that would have jumped at the chance to just charge me for the walls and attic, but Manuel was so honest it really blew us away. If we decide later, we want to add insulation to the walls we know exactly who we will be calling. If anyone needs any insulation work done, we definitely recommend Insulation Works!"
