"I contacted Bluestar Air Mechanical for a second opinion after an appointment with Air One. I have a Carrier HVAC system, and the Air One technician recommended a complete system replacement, claiming the blower was bad, the furnace control board needed replacing, and that there were other issues. Since replacing the HVAC is a big investment, I wanted to get a second opinion. It was only after comparing the service from Bluestar that I realized Air One may have been pushing for a new system sale or lacked the expertise to properly diagnose and repair the actual problems. Isaac, the technician from Bluestar, spent about an hour thoroughly diagnosing and fixing the issues. He found burnt wiring in the furnace and discovered that the wrong capacitor had been incorrectly installed in the AC. Isaac replaced the burnt wiring in the furnace and the capacitor in the AC. After these repairs, my Carrier system was back up and running—without the need for a costly replacement. Bluestar, and Isaac in particular, demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and honesty. They focused on resolving the actual issues instead of pushing for an unnecessary system replacement. "Holtzople honored my request for an appointment after 2pm. Corey called 10 minutes prior to arriving and went right to work inspecting my ac system. He discovered some build up (he didn't call it mold because he doesn't have training in identifying mold but I'm referring to it as mold) on the coils, which he cleaned. He showed me the "mold" inside the coil cabinet and provided options and literature for a UV light resolution without pressure to make an immediate decision. His inspection discovered the system was 2 lbs low on refrigerant. He filled it and noted the level for comparison during the next inspection. Since the ac system was poorly installed several years ago by a different HVAC firm, there's a question if there's a leak or the system wasn't completely filled when installed. I chose Holtzople last fall to replace my 24 year old oil furnace because I wanted a small, local, dependable company for HVAC services. They came out three separate times, charged us money for repairs that didn't work, then decided we needed a full replacement for $4,500. We called Buric for a second opinion.
