Case in point, we had Daniel come out to do our summer A/C maintenance. Daniel discovered that coils were bad and leaking coolant. We received our quote for the parts and repair. The cost was estimated at $3k (ouch!) Parts were ordered and Daniel came out within a weeks' time. I can't state highly enough how impressed we were with Daniel's knowledge, professionalism and most importantly care. Daniel was able to save us $1,300 as he discovered that after fixing the Nitrogen leak and replacing the refrigerant there was no need to replace the coils. I know other less scrupulous companies would have milked us for a higher invoice price especially since the coils were ordered. "My 36-year-old heating and air conditioning system, which was original to my home, had been on borrowed time for some while. I researched and got bids from four local companies. I needed a new heat pump and air handler at least, but I also wanted to replace the insulation and duct work since it too was old and I had had some rodent issues in my attic some years ago. Insulation upgrades also qualify for additional SMUD rebates. Not only was Huft's bid the lowest, but my Bosch system is more energy efficient than any of the other systems quoted me and whisper quiet. From the salesman Glenn to the installation lead Tever and the insulation installer Anthony, I was impressed with their level of punctuality, courtesy, and professionalism throughout the process. In fact, Glenn was the only salesman who actually took the time to take measurements at my house and explained the numbers of why I needed a three-ton system. The general Manager came from 45 minutes away less than one day after I called for an estimate in the middle of December (2015).  He pointed out several problems needing to be addressed that two other contractors had missed, and performed a complete inspection of potential ducting leaks.  Two days after that, FOUR other men showed up promptly at 8:00 in the morning with the aforementioned manager following with a Carrier dual unit he picked up an hour away from his house that very morning.

All five seemed to work well as a team and moved efficiently while still appearing in good humor.  They were also extremely polite and neatly dressed, and I never heard an ugly explicative the entire five hours they were here.  I'm certain they got a shock crawling through a garage that had not been used in several years after a pack rat had made messes of our storage, and had to face a clay-dirt basement with "iffy" access to change out a one section of ducting they felt was undersized.  They assured me they had seen worse (they were that nice!).

In spite of the physical complications, not only did they replace and take away the old unit with a location very inconveniently away from the driveway, they cleaned up EVERYTHING after replacing the undersized ducting, resealing the vents, changing out the two filters they had to go buy, and replacing our one-year old thermostat with one that is much easier to use.

All this for $5,750, during a cold snap in which we had had no heat for a week after prior intermittant problems, for $3,000- and $8,000- less than the other two bids.

The unit has been heating like a dream, and the work comes with a warranty to cover any problems should they arise.  We highly recommend this company - we didn't know there were any trustworthy contractors left these days!

"Our project was problematic from beginning to end and Diamond went above and beyond to take care of the situation, from patching up our old system and loaning us a portable air conditioner so we?d have AC during the hottest days of the year, to completely removing the existing system and ducting and replacing it with a new zoned-system that addresses our needs perfectly. "I have an old pressure relief valve replaced today. the service person was great, and the installation went really well. My main complain was the price after I did an online comparison. usually, the PRV installation will cost around $500 on the high end, but Bell Brother charged me $1600 since the new valve does not fit the old pipe, and they needed to redo the pipe. My family has been using bell brother for many years, we trusted their workmanship, but the markup is just too steep to justify. I definitely learned my lesson, for small jobs, will use home-advisor instead."

"The technicians that came to install our HVAC system were super friendly and accommodating to my many requests about locations of the furnace, vent pipes, the condenser wiring, piping, and the condenser itself. When I asked for a 90 degree boot feeding two registers so the piping could stay high, a technician made a run to a store and found them. I want to give a shout out to Danny Aguilar who installed the furnace with Edgar and Victor. Grant Duran with Jose and Richard did an amazing job installing the vent pipes. Finally Adolph Garcia with Gabriel and later several other technicians I previously mentioned all worked to install the AC system (condenser and its plumbing + electrical). They worked late into the day to complete the job. I was very demanding in where I wanted things installed and requested changes on a regular basis but in all cases I was accommodated."

"They removed the original ducts under the house, about 30 years old. Replaced with current rated insulated air ducts. They cleaned up all the trash and left no mess. Since it was under the house, there was very little crawl space."
