"We had a home energy audit which precipitated the need for Rovegno's services. The work crew arrived as scheduled, all work was completed in one day. Crew took precautions to avoid mess in house and cleaned up upon finishing the job. We received a recent electric bill which indicated that our energy consumption was 50% less than last year for the same month. The usage month for 2018 reflected colder temperatures than the same period in 2017. We are very pleased with results. Description of work: Brought attic insulation up to current building standards, put insulation into the second floor interior walls for sound dampening. Foam insulated the rim joist area on the perimeter of the basement, which is a finished basement."

"I AM LIVID WITH THEIR SERVICE. My husband and I have been living in our home 4 years without a single issue with our cooling system. We had UGI come out to "service" our system and said everything looked great....2 months later something with our compressor blew...that was $400. Then this morning, less than 30 days later, we apparently needed a brand new thermostat.....another $400 and guess what? MY HOUSE IS STILL NOT COOLING DOWN. So I called and said how it is absolutely ridiculous that there is still an issue especially after charging us to "fix" the thermostat. I am obviously frustrated. I work from home, its hot and I am pregnant with 4 pets in my home that are distressed from the rising heat and their customer service agent has the audacity to be BEYOND RUDE and tell me "to have a better day" as if it was MY FAULT...ok. It is very odd that ever since they came to "service" our central air system they've had to come back THREE TIMES and the system STILL NOT WORK. BEWARE!"

""My family and I enjoyed a very positive experience with the Quality Degree team regarding the installation of two new HVAC systems. I was very impressed with the high degree of thoroughness and professionalism shown by Comfort Advisor, Erica Zecca. From the start, Erica made us feel confident and assured in moving forward with Quality Degree, and we were delighted that her estimate was very competitive. The installation team included Ken, Tarik, AJ, Angel, and Daniel. They arrived on time and immediately went to work on the replacement and installation. Throughout the entire process, they were very efficient, communicative, and neat. Ken was diligent in reviewing the new components and their maintenance, and he stated we should call Quality Degree anytime if we have any questions. In sum, Quality Degree delivered outstanding service with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail. Their superb ratings online are truly accurate and well-deserved, and I am delighted to contribute to the same. Any homeowners needing one or more of the wide variety of services Quality Degree provides should contact them and enjoy the certainty of receiving premier, high-value service.""

"I supposedly won their contest at the State College Home Show 2022 for $1200 certificate. Rep came out and knew nothing about giving me the prize I won. Should have seen this as red flag. Window and entry door replaced anyway. Like the window. BUT, the door has major air draft coming in down the side and across the bottom. Have been calling repeatedly for 2 months leaving multiple messages- no return call since back in October. Company sent me letter 11/30 and called me that evening trying to get me to hire them to do more work. Assured me they would send someone to correct problem with initial work. Still have not received phone call or service visit from anyone in this company. Don't enter their contests at Home shows- I think they use this as way to get into your home to sell you their company when you haven't really won anything. and don't hire them to do any work. They will not fix any problems!!"

"It was awesome. They replaced my power cable and at my request it was placed above ground. The owner and crew were all very professional, friendly, upfront about their estimate and very honest. If I could I would rate them at an A+++ I would."

"You absolutely cannot go wrong with King Conservation. After interviewing MULTIPLE companies I felt like Casey/King Conservation was here from out of this world. They answer the phone when you call, they return calls promptly, they make appointments (and confirm them!), they show up on time, they write clear proposals (quickly!) and actually do the work (and more!) they say they will. I dare you to find another contractor that does HALF of those things. Not to mention the work they did was spectacular, detailed, and very high quality. Crew was great, pleasant, and finished on time. These guys are out of this world. I literally won't call anyone else for these services in the future."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Harrisburg, PA

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
