"About 15 years ago I wanted a new furnace, install central air, and remove an old furnace oil tank from the basement. And I had a suggested place for the AC condenser. I had quotes from several contractors. Masters was the most expensive, and compared to the cheapest, quite a bit more. But their bid was exactly what I was asking for. I went with them, and they did what they promised when they promised. The furnace came with 10 year manufactures P&L warranty. The circuit board for the blower went bad three times, twice under warranty. I don?t consider the circuit board failure their fault. Each time they came when they promised. For the two warranty calls there was no charge, and no hassle. For the third time, we discussed options, and they wired the blower such that I could continue to use the defective circuit board. So the date and amount listed was for their last call. I now live in a different house, and am considering geo-thermal. Last spring I talked to several contractors at a home show. I think Masters had the best understanding of the challenges of my installation, and to what part of the total job the tax rebates would apply. If I go ahead with geo-thermal, I?m sure they will not be the low bid. But I?m also sure they will what I ask, and do it correctly."

"Our air went out at the start of summer during an extremely hot period (90's+!). Due to the way our place is set up, it was a REALLY tough install that required using a crane to get the AC on the roof, and pulling the water heater - which it turns out needed replacement also (ugh!). Rich came to our rescue, even loaning us a portable AC that we could use until the install could be done. He worked hard, and coordinated well with the plumber we had in to pull/replace the water heater. He was friendly, very flexible and did good work. We're very happy with the service he gave us. On top of all of this, his price was very reasonable. Much less than the other guys and some of them took one look at our system and flat out refused the job! I highly recommend you call Rich and skip some of the "big names" in town that want to charge more, and work less hard for you. Its rare to find service companies these days with a solid work ethic, who deliver great service for a fair price."

"Choice was fast, efficient, and kept me posted on the progress of the claim. Although the water leak issue was discovered on a Friday, they had a plumber there to investigate by Saturday morning. When it was determined that the 20+ year old heater needed to be replaced, the replacement ordered, on-site, and installed by Wednesday morning. I am glad that we opted for the Choice Ultimate plan as other than the initial $65 service fee, all but one $50 ancillary expense was covered."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
