"The BEST phone call I have made this year for a service needed in my home was to Mirsky Heating and AIr. I called in the middle of a So. Cal heatwave because my thermostat had stopped working and I needed to replace it. How often does an AC company, in the middle of a heatwave, tell you they can come the same day? NEVER!! Except for Mirsky..Darrow told me that he would try to make it work..and he did...which I will be forever grateful!!! He checked in with me during the day to assure me that he was coming and not to leave work until he was more clear on the time he would be at my home. He showed up with another Mirsky employee named John..they were both super friendly and so helpful. Darrow found the problem and within 45 minutes, the thermostat was replaced and everything was up and running again. I can't say enough how grateful I am to Darrow and Mirsky Heating and Air...I am giving their contact info to all of my friends and will be calling them again for anything heating AC related."

"Initially I considered having to pay $8000-ish for a replacement unit. Robert Alfonso saved the day, however. Well trained by LA Tech, and professional from start to finish, Robert diagnosed and resolved my wiring and capacitor issue quickly. The fix was $485 not $8000 to replace the unit. These guys are legit. Great result. Robert "Doctor" Alfonso rocked it."

"I had 4 estimates.  The first vendor said he would be unable to test for leaks and said he would install new system and gave us a one line estimate.

 The second vendor said he could fill with freeon for $800 with no warranty or put in new system for $15k with no itemization,  He only attached a pressure gauge to outside line and was going to charge my very elderly Mom $105.  When I called owner and said that no diagnosis was made and this is ludicrous, he dropped the charge.

 The third vendor spent well over an hour explaining why his company is great and then said the charge would be approximately $9,500.

the fourth vendor was Mick Sinclair and what a completely different experience. I first called and spoke to Nick, his son.  I told him I did not know what to do.  Although both Nick and his Dad were booked solid he said he would get back to me.  Mick called and scheduled an appointment. He measured the pressure and tried to fix the valve. He then actually removed the outer shell of the condensor and noted that the motor was not working at all.  He tried to fix the motor and added a booster to no avail.  He refused to charge anything for the diagnostic and attempted repair - nothing!

Note, that not one of the other three vendors checked the motor.

Mick then said he would email a quote which he did in a very timely manner. His wife sent the email and I spoke to her and she was as nice as Mick and their son, Nick.

Mick spent 1-1/2 days performing the complete installation, including sealing asbestos and many other things.

There are literally no words to explain the excellent service we received from Mick. He is also very kind.

My 92 year old Mom and I are grateful for you.  You are truly a professional.

"On a positive note: Brandon (of Breezeway AIr Duct Cleaning) was recommended by my HVAC company (in late September 2019) when new tenants insisted on having the air ducts cleaned as they moved in. To his credit, Brandon promptly arranged to have someone come out and clean the ducts - for which I (and the new tenants) were grateful. Per Brandon's request, my credit card information was provide electronically - which turned out to be a HUGE mistake; lesson learned! Unfortunately, the worker did not put the furnace door panels on properly and a few months later (in November 2019), tenants complained that it was getting cold in the house because the furnace wasn't working. I contacted my HVAC company to assess the problem - which is when we discovered the furnace door was misaligned - furnace did not turn on for safety reasons. However, that is the least of my issues with Brandon / Breezeway Air Duct Cleaning. The air ducts were cleaned in late September 2019 and my credit card was charged in early October 2019. Turns out, I was overcharged $130 from the contracted price and despite Brandon's apology and repeated promises to issue a refund (he even provided a screenshot of having issued a refund for $130) - the refund never appeared on my credit card statement. In late December 2019, I filed a dispute with the credit card company and supplied all supporting documentation; they issued a provision credit and reached out to Brandon to inquire about the dispute. The credit card company informed me that Brandon / Breezeway challenged the requested credit and said I was charged the correct amount (despite having plenty of documentation to the contrary); Brandon later informed me that issue was related to use of the Square app. Either way, the refund had not yet been issued. Update: on 2/11/2020, the promised refund of $130 was received; thank you, Brandon. Grateful to finally have this resolved."

"The, technician, Miguel, showed on time and was very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with my fuse box and Miguel was able to fix the problem. There was only a $97 fee for the work provided. Miguel noticed that that my system needed maintenance and provided me with a maintenance contract for a year which was the bet solution for my system. I'm very happy with their service and I will definitely use this company again for their excellent customer service and I highly recommend UMC.

"I found Precision Auto Works here on Angie's List.  They had great reviews and a 10% off labor coupon.  I decided to give them a try.  I pulled into the parking lot and was a little leery because it looks like you are parking next to a house.  Do not let this stop you.  You ARE supposed to park there.  Walk around the house to the back and you will find the office and see the shop.  It's a strange set up, but this place was awesome. 
I have never had such great customer service from an auto mechanic.  I had an engine light on in my car and I needed an oil change.  A friend had pulled the error codes from my car and I was able to walk in with those.  The office spent several minutes with me discussing and looking up the codes.  They called the mechanic (Dave) in and he also spent quite a bit of time with me.  As a female, I have never felt so comfortable at an auto shop before.  I left my car and waited for an estimate. 
A couple of hours later they had located the problem (an actuator) and gave me an estimate.  For parts, labor and a synthetic oil change, the estimate was $450.  $80 or so of that was my synthetic oil change (which is about average).   $175 was for the actuator part.  $200 for labor (with my 10% off coupon labor came to $180).  So anyway, right around $450.  Now here comes the good part.  They called a second dealership to check for the part so they could get the car back to me on the same day.  The other dealership wasn't going to have it available until the following day.  We're not sure what happened but the second dealership listed the part for $50.  They called me with the great news about the price drop and told me my car would be ready that day.  Do you know how easy it would have been for this mechanic to just charge me the full $450?  I never would have known the difference.   However, they did not do that.  They passed on the savings.  My final bill?  $301.  
I felt they we're upfront and honest throughout the entire experience.  They mentioned they will be calling the first dealership to find out why they had such a huge price difference and mentioned they will not work with them in the future if they are gouging their prices.  It may have been an honest mistake somewhere along the way but either way, they are looking into it.  I love that they kept me in the loop and told me absolutely everything that was happening.  Not many shops would take the time to keep a customer so informed.  
Try this place! You just might find "your" new mechanic!
**As as a side note, this experience has convinced me to renew my Angie's List membership.  I don't use the site very often but if I can find even one compnay a year that provides an experience like Precision Auto Works, then my membership pays for itself.

"First I want to extend my thanks to Perry Tubul who came to me personally and look at my situation to repair or replace my old central AC. He quoted me a good price for replacement that I can't refuse. The central AC was replaced with no hitch and on time. Want also to appreciate the work of Joseph and Joshua who were very courteous in installing the condenser and duct. What I admire most is Perry who sent a crane to pick up my old heavy AC from the hillside backyard of my house which is impossible to bring it up to the street level. He is really a gentleman to pursue his promise to pick it up after I already paid the unit and services. My worry for the old AC to tumble down the hill and not hurt our neighbor is a good piece of mind. Again kudos to the team of Perry."
