"Gerald was great. We couldn’t be happier with his work and our experience. We needed a whole house install, duct work and everything. He was polite and courtesy as well. I had an unusual request if he could try to be more quiet during my toddlers nap and he did just that. We are loving our system, his fair prices and efficiency. Do yourself a favor and hire this man! "Premium Home services is a scam..their customer sevice does not do anything about refunding back expensive, terrible and unfinished work. They hang up on you and give you the run around to speak with a so called manager. They send a so called professional to do the work, ask for a ridiculous amount of service call out fee and don't finish the job. The tech was unorganized and shows up hours late. Don't recommend the company."

"My 30-year-old furnace failed on a Monday with night temps at 10 degrees. Elemental came out that day and tried to service the unit. It was unserviceable with a cracked heat exchanger. The salesperson came out at 10:00 PM at night to provide a quote for replacement. The service tech also stayed until he arrived. They didn't try to oversell beyond the equivalent of the existing unit. They replaced the entire furnace and AC units (connected) on that Wednesday (my request). I was worried that I would be overcharged given my immediate need. However, it was just the opposite. After talking with friends and neighbors who had to replace their units in the last few years, as well as a relative in the HVAC field, Elemental's price was extremely fair and reasonable. Everyone involved (repair tech, salesperson, installers) were very professional, prompt and knew their trade. I could not be more pleased with the experience and result. Assuming maintenance support will be of the same quality. "

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in Luray, VA

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
