"The installers were great, removed the 70 year old crumbling boiler and all the old valves, expansion tanks etc. and installed the new boiler and hot water tank in just 2 days. They explained what each valve and control did after they finished the installation. No extra charge for removal of the old equipment and they left the basement cleaner than when they arrived."

"I typically get several estimates before any major expense. I do this to gather information as well as compare price and the people behind the websites. Two other companies were recommended to me by friends. Accurate was my third estimate. My previous furnace was installed by Accurate and serviced by Accurate so I was going to check with them before buying a new furnace. Accurate even showed up first thing one winter morning when the furnace didn't turn on. 



Each estimate said something a little different about which furnace to buy and how it should be installed. Derek from Accurate showed up on time and appeared to know the product and the installation requirements - including the expectations of the local building inspector. The building inspector has to approve the installation when it is finished. I honestly don't know if I chose the right furnace by purchasing a TRANE. I didn't want the most expensive model and I wasn't pressured to buy it. I did buy the pricey air  filter since a family member has allergies. 



The installation process went very smoothly. The man who spent all day doing the installation was low-key, friendly, and appeared to be doing a careful job. E.g., he didn't talk on his cell or blare a radio. Accurate arranged for the plumber to do the gas line hook up and the electrician to connect the new furnace and install a CO2 alarm. The plumber returned at a later date to show the finished job to the building inspector.



 It took a lot of time to learn about the new high efficiency furnaces, talk to friends about how they managed home heating issues, and then meet with contractors. Since it's such an expensive and long-term purchase, it's a tough decision. I decided to stay with Accurate based on past experience and I think it was the right call.

"I had a leak in my oil tank and could not find someone that could replace my tank in less than 6 weeks, Paul called me back and really tried to help me out, he could install in less than 2 weeks since mine was leaking, in the end my oil company was able to get someone in sooner so I had to go with them given the cold weather we were having and needed to have heat in my house, I just wanted to let people know that this company got back to me and tried to help when I could not get others to even call me back. "First visit was to diagnose the source of a leak that was causing water damage to a first floor ceiling. Boston Standard's plumbers did a pretty perfunctory inspection, declared that the leak was coming from the dishwasher on the second floor, and presented a bill of $320. They did this without looking at the dishwasher itself or figuring out where specifically the leak originated -- a supply line? a drain line? a broken connection? a cracked tub? The time and effort they put in did not justify the cost. The second visit was weeks later, after a new dishwasher had been installed and the leak restarted. This time the plumber was relatively efficient, figured out the problem, and fixed it on an emergency basis. The cost was in line with the amount of work he did (given that it was a Saturday morning). When I raised questions about the first bill, the owner wouldn't budge, but he was courteous and rational about it. I'm not sure I'd use them again, given the mediocre service and fairly high prices, but I've come across far worse."
