"I had my HVAC replaced in my condo during the summer of 2018. I had just moved and had painters working when it malfunctioned. There turned out to be a leak and I decided to purchase a new system after hearing about previous problems with the unit. I had used Valairco for annual checkups and was happy with the company. I ordered the new system requesting it be done as soon as possible because of the situation. They immediately ordered the new system and installed it as soon as it was shipped to them. Lou did a great job and I’m happy with my purchase and guarantee."

"Rob is very professional.  He replaced a broken pipe.  He had to jackhammer part of my basement floor; he had to work around a French drain which was very close to the broken pipe. Rob replaced the pipe, snaked the line and cemented the floor. He came the day he was called, did the work and I'm very happy.  I have used Rob many time and will continue to use him.

"After two weeks of trying to diagnose the problem with my heating system, it was determined that I needed to replace the system. Although this was not the answer that I was looking for, it was the right answer and decision. From the technicians who determined a replacement was needed, to Phil Grego who coordinated the replacement installation, to Miguel and his coworker who worked quickly to replace the system, it was a flawless coordinated effort to restore a working heating system in my house. All representatives from Arctic Air were respectful and informative. An extra shout out to Phil who was able to get me on the installation schedule quickly."

"They came to do the cleaning and they quoted us to replace the system, which they said needed to be done. Their price was way too high. They didn’t actually do the cleaning. But we had another company install the new system."

"They contacted me within an hour of my purchasing the offer. By the next morning I had an appointment. The repairmen were here when they were supposed to be. They explained my problem and once I approved the repair they did it professionally. They left no sign of their being here when they were done. I just have to get over the sticker shock of the cost of refrigerant today."

"Repairman, Andrew, came and located the problem. The ignitor had burned out, so the burners would not light. Andrew did not have the part in his truck but was able to fit in a used part from another furnace to give me heat until he got the other part. I got a call the next day and scheduled a time to put in the exact part. Again, repairman was within the stated time window. Heat working well."

"The two-man team was prompt, congenial, and strong. They hoicked out my old dead machine (a Friedrich SL-28) and lifted the replacement into place. It was an above-window job, real heavy lifting. The job was simple in execution and took maybe 90 minutes.

"The estimate for the new circuit installation was done promptly and on-time. The work was performed on the date scheduled. John Schultz was professional, courteous and thorough.
Getting anything scheduled and completed the week of the Christmas holiday can be challenging if not impossible no matter what the task may be, but the work was completed without delay or complication at a very fair price. Not only would I not hesitate to hire Schultz Bros Electric for future electrical work, but my wife and I already plan on just that for other projects this Spring.

Our thanks to John for the prompt and thorough work performed!

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Manville, NJ

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
