"I’ve been really pleased with Palencia Masonry. They’ve done quite a bit of masonry and concrete work for me at this point. They built a nice brick planter bed in front of the house, replaced some old cracked concrete sidewalk and completed some much needed repointing on our old house in the fan. They’ve been responsive and done high-quality work. Highly recommend."

"Fantastic. I have never dealt with a company that was so easy for me. Axel and his crew were timely, efficient and never left a mess. Their estimate was very fair and exactly what I was invoiced. I didn’t have to wait weeks and weeks to get my project completed either which was a huge relief. The project looks amazing; it was exactly what we discussed. I would and will hire them again."

"It went very well. He was nice, cleaned up after himself, assessed everything very well and completed it in two days. I was impressed with the replacement in the living room, it was storming when he came back and he put a tarp over the chimney to continue the repairs after. His wife very sweet and charming. I would recommend them to anybody! Plus they give a 10% discount to Angie's List members."

"It went very well. They came when they said, did what they were suppose to do, cleaned up really nice, & charged us the best price of any of the estimates that I got. Justin worked with us from estimate until finished. If I had any problems or questions, I could call or email him & get a response by at least the next day. The crew were really thoughtful & hard working. I think they had to stay late one day to make sure they finished on time. They not only put up the new siding, but they tore off all of the old siding, wrapped the house again, & put up new insulation board. We were very pleased with how well it went & how great Jacobs Ladder handled things."

"Cliff's team did a great job! For leaf removal, his team arrived quickly and did a thorough job. We had a massive area in our backyard that was overgrown with bushes and brush. They were able to completely remove the brush and roots in a single day. We would definitely work with Cliff's Landscaping again."

"Garett came out and inspected our 100 year old chimney.  He gave a honest assessment and a solution.  He sent a camera down the flue to inspect it and also took before and after pictures. The crew that came out put down protective cloth for the flooring and sealed off the two unused flues, so that no unwanted dirt or debris went into those two bedrooms.   The crew was polite, professional, cleaned up after themselves and worked quickly / well together.  On a part of the chimney that was exposed in the dining room there was some odd fiberglass type patch over the brick.  The camera showed  from the inside of the flue that  it could be a hole in the brick.  When they pulled the outer patch off  a rather large hole had been already filled in.  They then gave us a discount since there was nothing to be done.  We wouldn't have known the difference if they had charged us the full price.  Nice to see that some companies still exhibit honesty these days. <br />"

"Reid Nash proved to be a knowledgeable reliable contractor. We hired him to replace all the support posts for our sunroom which were nearly all rotted through. They shored up the structure and leveled it and replaced the wood posts with brick columns. Reid worked with us on the best price solution to do the columns in brick as opposed to less attractive solutions. He kept us informed throughout the entire process. The finished product is beautiful , solid and well executed. This man is a gem among contractors."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Mechanicsville, VA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
