"I have had a service contract with McCrea Heating and Cooling since I purchased my condo unit new 7 1/2 years ago which included 2 maintenance visits a year. My current contract expired yesterday so I called to renew my service contract and upgrade from "Bronze" to "Silver." The representative took my charge card information over the phone. I asked if the contract was in effect as of today. They said "yes." Then I tried to schedule a service call (my unit was serviced a little over a month ago and now the condo wasn't cooling.) I was told then that the Silver Contract would NOT be in effect after all. The difference in price between Bronze and Silver is the cost of a diagnostic visit so they were getting the money one way or another. My long time history with the company did not persuade them to honor the contract I had just paid for. They wanted to charge me $98 to have my problem diagnosed under the Bronze contract that I pointed out was already expired. I was told the representative "misspoke" and should have told me they would have to send out someone to determine whether the furnace they have been maintaining for the past 7 years (with the most recent service call just a month ago) would "qualify" for the Silver plan. So, I cancelled the order for the Silver Plan. I called another company who came out for $30 and determined the problem was a clogged condensation drain. This drain was supposed to have been "blown out" when the regular maintenance was done by McCrea just a month ago, but obviously was not. The water was backed up in the drain pipe and filled the pan under the furnace/AC unit which turned off the AC. Now that everything is working again, I am seeking a different maintenance service plan provider. McCrea has competitive service contract prices, but if they have no customer loyalty, and the maintenance work is not done properly, maybe it's a question of "you get what you pay for.""

I have a Carrier HVAC system, and the Air One technician recommended a complete system replacement, claiming the blower was bad, the furnace control board needed replacing, and that there were other issues. He found burnt wiring in the furnace and discovered that the wrong capacitor had been incorrectly installed in the AC. Isaac replaced the burnt wiring in the furnace and the capacitor in the AC. After these repairs, my Carrier system was back up and running—without the need for a costly replacement. Bluestar, and Isaac in particular, demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and honesty. They focused on resolving the actual issues instead of pushing for an unnecessary system replacement. I highly recommend Bluestar for their reliable service and Isaac’s thorough and knowledgeable work."

"I needed the splash guard replaced on my 2007 Honda Civic in a hurry because it was dragging on the ground. My boyfriend and I have been regular ABS Unlimited Auto Repair customers for about two years, so he called them on Columbus Day to see if they could squeeze me in. They said to come right in. When we went in, Tom took a look at it, called the Honda dealership and ordered the part. ABS had it installed by the afternoon. The service was great.
The extraordinary part came when I went to pick up the car. My bumper had become detached on the drivers side a few years ago when I was parked at the Metro. ABS professionally reattached the bumper at no charge...without even telling me! I continue to be delighted by their excellent service. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and helpful. "Started with Joseph coming out to look at the system and making recommendations as well as giving us an estimate. Made sure that the service provided would not impact my wife's sensitivity to chemicals. David and Tony came out to perform the service. Both were professional and thorough. Told me where the system was p[particularly dirty and smelled of mold as well as telling me where other parts of the system were in very good condition. Deep cleaned all of the duct work and then treated with an eco-friendly mist to prevent any future mold, mildew, and/or bacteria. Fair price and excellent job. Thank to Joseph, David, and Tony."

"Continental's technicians were highly experienced, professional, considerate, respectful, hard working, and neat.  They arrived on-time when scheduled.  Allied's drilling and trenching crews were excellent also.  This was a big messy job that took about a week and we are very happy with the work that they did.  The owner of Continental, Frank Jackson, sold us the system.  He provided an extensive reference list that went back at least 15 years.  He was on-site for most of the job providing hands-on supervision of his technicians.  His technicians are so experienced that he didn't have to be there to supervise them.  Rather, I believe he was there to make sure that the job was finished on time because they are so busy.  Allied had an on-site supervisor at the start of the drilling process to finalize the location of the loop bores, but their drilling crew was highly experienced and needed no supervision.
Installing geothermal is a messy job.  The vertical bores and horizontal trenching for the ground loop makes a muddy mess.  The drillers from Allied were very respectful to the property, much more than I expected.  I expected that the drilling process would make "a mess and a half" but it only made a mess!  At the end of the job the ground was re-leveled and ready for seed, which has already popped and growing grass.  As one of the drillers said "the mess only takes grass seed to fix".
The HVAC technicians from Continental left the spaces where  they worked in "broom-clean" condition.  We had to do some "deep cleaning" afterwards, but this was completely reasonable.
We expressed our concerns about the job to the technicians before they started work because we do not know much about HVAC or geothermal.  They took the time to explain what they were going to do and how they were going to do it.  They kept us fully informed about their progress and included us in the decision making process when they had more than one way of running a pipe or duct.  They made us feel really comfortable and that we were getting a top-notch job.
While the cost for the system from Continental was a little bit higher than their competitors I think we got value for money.  In addition to the reference list we received during the sale process, we also know two families that used Continental in the recent past and they are very happy with the work that was performed.
We would use Continental again and would recommend them to others.
If you go with the option to integrate your hot water heater with the geothermal system (which is supposed to reduce the cost of the hot water that you use) I would reccommend that you bite the bullet and have a preheat tank installed at additional cost.  We didn't do that and in retrospect we should have based on some further reading that we did about how to get the most bang for the buck from geothermal.  It would be easy to install the preheat tank during a new construction project.  It would be harder to install the preheat tank during a replacement project (like ours was).
