"I could have not asked for a better person to cover my porch and extending it 8 feet. The work he did was more than professional. He helped design the overlay of the porch making it into a deck. Completion date was done on time, cleaned up every day at the end did not leave any debris laying around. I would highly recommend John block deck contractor to anyone looking to have a deck or porch cover extension work done. John and his son Josh were very professional and enjoyed working with them during the project."

"Our project started out as renovating a 16'x14' deck, 6 feet above the backyard grade, that had seen better days. We also had asked for an add-alternate to put a roof over the deck (we have always wanted to enclose it). After we received the quote, which was less than a few others (but not the cheapest), we asked them to provide a quote for converting to a sunroom -- just the shell as we would do the interior ourselves. The price they quoted was fair and reasonable. From demo of the old deck to the completed sunroom took 23 working days (not including rain/snow days -- they started in February). The structure is substantial and the roof tied into the existing house well. They didn't balk when we decided that we wanted to include a skylight or other minor extras. I kept telling Steve and Brandon (our contractors) that they are selling themselves short -- they do so much more than decks and fences, which was one of my concerns before they started. Steve is a fantastic carpenter who takes his time figuring things out and very attentive to the little dettails that makes a good project a great one. Brandon has experience in siding and roofing. And they work so well together, were very respectful and courteous of our property. Greg and Jen in the office are a treat to work with and very responsive -- always returning emails and phone calls right away if they can't pick up. We give this team 5 stars and cannot recommend them highly enough. I'd submit a picture if I could."

"Jose is great to work with. He looked at the entire house and we discussed options of either just touching up or painting the entire home. I went with the entire home. Not inexpensive (we have a large, older home), but we found his price to be very fair and more reasonable than the two other companies we looked at using. Jose worked around my schedule, his crew showed up on time and worked long days. They cleaned up each evening and when they finished. They understood the surfaces and paint and if the paint wasn’t going on the way they thought it should would re do it to make it right. All the crew were easy to have on our property. Jose went over the house when they finished and pointed out a couple of areas they wanted to watch, reminding me to call him and they would fix any bubbles that might happen. He is thorough! "Bruce Mantz and his crew can come to my house any time! Punctual. Professional. Meticulous. He didn't start the job when he said they would - he started it a day early which was fantastic!!! If you've ever had a contractor at your house before, you probably know that doesn't happen. At the end of each day they cleaned up the job site and didn't leave us with a mess. We told Bruce that he's the professional and has free reign as far as design went and to what he felt needed to be done...it is not a mistake to tell him that and then just let him do what he does. Now when we have company over there is a "WOW" factor when we show them our backyard - it went from being an eyesore to a work of art. We absolutely love it! He gave a lot of thought to what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. There were a couple of days that they weren't able to work because of heavy rains; because he knew that was a major problem for us, he drove 30 minutes north just to see how the water was flowing through our backyard for himself. When the rain cleared and they started work again, sure enough, he modified what he was doing based on what he saw. To date, we have ZERO problems with heavy rain water in our backyard anymore. Anyhow, in an effort to keep this short, if you want to hire a contractor that loves what he's doing and not just trying to make a buck, you can't go wrong with Mantz's Lawn & Landscaping, LLC."
