I became fast friends with project manager Scott as he determined exactly what I wanted and gave feedback on things I had not even considered. "I got several quotes from companies that specialize in pergolas. I wanted something that was contemporary while keeping cost and quality in mind. I also wanted to customize a few things to allow for limited sun exposure without having a full cover on top as our yard faces West. I worked with Tony who is a sales rep for the company. He wasn’t pushy and came prepared to walk me through their offerings. We exchanged several texts and calls as I kept coming up with mind blowing ideas every hour (ok maybe I was just crazy). Regardless, he was attentive and addressed every suggestion. The village took about 2 months to approve my permit due to Covid and limited resources and it was finally time for the install. Levi was our installer. If I owned this company, Levi is who I’d want working for me. He treated us as if he owned the company himself and was very attentive to me pointing out things before he was even done with the job. He assured me everything will be fine once the pergola is up, things are sealed and a final coat of paint is applied. He was absolutely correct. There were some issues that I addressed and Levi did everything in his control to make things the way we wanted. The wood comes from the mill and the two boards in the front of our pergola were not aligned as they were/are different in size by about a half inch. The two boards meet in the middle of our pergola as it’s about 28ft wide. He shaved off where the boards meet and made it look as seamless as possible. The wood from the mill is also very rough and while it gives it a rustic look it can cause splinters if somebody was to rub against it. The only thing I wish I knew ahead of time was how the wood felt. We may get it sanded down in the future as we have a basketball court attached to our patio and kids may run into the wood. As of now it looks great and we’re just waiting on some touch up paint or paint codes so we can go and buy paint from Sherwin Williams. I highly recommend working with this company."

"This was my first remodel and although I did my hw before starting project, I still learned a lot. I chose this company because I trusted them to work in my home without residential supervision and I expected high quality work. Strengths: trustworthy, skilled, professional, craftsmen, customer satisfaction, end result is beautiful kitchen and bathroom remodel Areas for Growth: communication and realistic timeline Overall rating would have been an A, except for a couple of communication issues."

"We chose 5 roofing contractors from Angie's List. When they came to give us an estimate we told them that price was not our only criteria, we wanted a quality job. Honestly they all seemed fine except for one thing or another. For example , in 1 estimate the gutter had a grater type screen, I didn't like it. Another estimate the contractor did his math wrong and his estimate was half of everyone else. I think they would have been fine but.... In the end we chose Beams because of Brad Rigney. He came and gave an estimate and nailed down a shingle on the house next door for us, the estimate was competitive with the others and frankly Brad impressed us both. When the work crew showed up Brad was there to introduce us to the work foreman Ceasar and showed him specifics like the trim we needed replaced and that we were keeping our down spouts. Then the crew went to work and removed our old roof and laid down some sort of under roof that was waterproof and insulated. (I worried about rain noise. If you've ever been in a barn during a rain storm you know the noise can be deafening.) anyway, the next day they put the roof on and that evening we had a rain storm, no noise, not a whisper. So they came ,they roofed, they cleaned up and a few days later(weather delay) the gutter sub-contractors came and within 2-3 hours had the new gutters on. Thru it all Brad kept in touch and on top of everything. One small snafu, the preliminary contract called for 5" white gutters, however by the final contract I wanted 6" green gutters to match our new metal roof. When the gutter contractors came , they had run out 25' of 5" white gutters. When we told them it wasn't correct they called Brad he talked to them and they said they would be back tomorrow with the right product. And they were, no fuss no muss no anger just kinda oops our bad. I have hated dealing with contractors in the past. ( we've all been through it ) With Brad as Beams representative we were in excellent hands. I only gave Beams a B on price because it wasn't the cheapest estimate, but I do believe it was the best and I would recommend them to anyone. the whole experience was hassle free and how many times can you say that about a contractor that has worked on your home."

"It's very hard to find a really good finish carpenter, and Garrett Renfro is one of those rare people. We are so happy to have found someone with his skill set and professionalism in our area. A long time ago we learned to hire the most skilled people we can find who have a great reputation. They may charge a bit more, but the cost is worth it because the work is done right the first time. Garrett is that category -- the highest quality work, and a bit more expensive than the average guy."
