I know definitively who I'll call next time I need window repairs. LONG VERSION After decades of neglect from the previous owner, and a few years of neglect from us, our 31 yo casement windows were in terrible shape (10 banks of 2). Major rotting of wood sills, sashes, brick moulding, and more. Ronnie & crew in the field, along with Dylan in the office, provided a clear, detailed, competitive quote based on what they could see during the initial inspection. Given the windows' particularly poor condition, they appropriately warned me they might uncover additional repairs while taking everything apart for the quoted repairs. I knew this to be the case from past experience, but still appreciated they called it out explicitly. Ronnie & crew were on-time, respectful, communicative & informative, and ensured I knew the status of the work as it progresssed. During the repairs, Ronnie identified some hidden issues -- though not entirely unexpected (see aforementioned warning) -- which required substantially more work. In each case, Ronnie showed me the newly uncovered issue, explained why the work needed (or did not need) to be done, and confirmed how I wanted to proceed. Most of the additional repairs clearly were necessary to support and complete the originally quoted repairs, so I agreed. In an instance or two, he noted an additional repair was non-critical, and I passed -- no pressure, no problem. We still have 2 banks of 2 windows each, with sashes too far gone to repair, so Ronnie and team are working with me to identify options for sash replacement. Hopefully, since the original model is discontinued and not available, we can use a newer model from the manufacturer (if they fit), But if not, Ronnie is actively working with me on contingency options. I wish all my home repair experiences were this positive. I said it above, and it bears repeating: outstanding! I know definitively who I'll call next time I need window repairs."

They explained to us what they were looking at, and what they were replacing. They were literally in and out in under 45 min, which is fantastic! "After a bad storm in 2017 we had contractors all over our subdivision looking for work. As a rule if you knock on my door I won't use you. We had 6 door knockers and contacted 5 others. We actually started working with two different contractors first. One didn't have the proper insurance and one came in very expensive. They did get the insurance process started but were not what we wanted. I contacted 3 more contractors. One of them was Professional Home Improvement. Mel came over reviewed what the insurance company had approved and realized that they had missed several items that needed to be included but was left out. He also came up with an estimate right away. It was a good estimate and included several items that the other companies had not so we went with his company. He contacted the insurance company and got the additional items approved. He also had his insurance company send his proof of insurance directly to us instead of just giving us a copy. We had to wait a few weeks for them to start the roof which was fine since it had been almost a year since we started looking for a contractor. I also felt that good contractors are busy so there would be a wait. The old roof was torn off and the new on was installed with ice and water shield in one day. The crew did a great job and even went around the house with a big magnet to pick up any nails that were in the grass or on the deck. A few weeks later they started on the siding and window trim. after removing the siding they installed 3/8's of an inch of insulation and wrapped the house in Tyvek. When installing the siding there were a few issues that came up but since I was there while they were doing the install we were able to solve them right away and continue on. They even pointed out that on the gutters, which had been installed 17 years ago, The nails were starting to pull out of the brackets. So while they were installing the siding I was fixing the loose gutters. The finished product looks great. I've even had neighbors stop by just to tell us that how nice the house and the siding look. I am very happy with the job that was done."

Gus is very easy to communicate with, easygoing and pleasant, and did quality work in a timely manner.  Was a good problem solver, too, when I had a couple of repairs I wasn't sure how to handle.  He is very up front about things he does not do, or that he has not done in the past, which I very much appreciate. (Never fun when someone says they can do something but has never done it before and uses your house for a paid educational session)

" Installed 16 windows in June 2013.  Almost 4 years later (Jan., 2017) one of the windows cracked.  Called Albar and sent a text photo of the cracked window.  They said it was a pressure crack and ordered a replacement from the factory.  They called me when it was ready.  I picked it up. They showed me how to remove the damaged window and put in the new one.  It was very simple even for a woman in the 60s with no construction experience (although you can have it done for you for a service fee).  I popped out the old one and popped in the new one.  No Charge.  This company is there for you even long after the sale is completed."

"Andy, the owner, came out and carefully assessed the damage and provided me with a very competitive estimate. I had a few other estimates, but I chose Nyberg Exteriors because of: 1). Andy's experience, professionalism and integrity. 2). The excellent rating here on Angie's List 3). Nyberg is a recognized as Professional Installer by CertainTeed (manufacturer of roof materials) Andy's communication throughout the process was exemplary, and I wish all my experiences with contractors went as efficiently. Andy came out to show us a number of samples, and we decided on one that looked good and scheduled the install for a few days later. The work group arrived promptly on the day of the install, and rang the bell to let us know that work was starting. The work crew conducted themselves very professionally throughout the entire install. They worked tirelessly from early morning to late evening to ensure things were done. I never had the impression that things were being rushed. They went out of their way to fix a gutter that was previously damaged by another company, and replaced several sheets of rotting out plywood. A previous mess of tar and shingles near my chimney was fixed and cleaned up by the crew, and it looks great now. The roof vents were replaced, and everything looked just right with the roofing shingles. Clean-up was exceptional. Really the only way I knew they were there was due to a small bit of shingle in the odd place. I was careful to examine the driveway afters, and did not find a single nail laying on the ground. The end result is a fantastic looking roof. I only wish the rest of my house looked as nice as the roof does. I plan to have Andy and his crew back out next year to help with some of those need changes. I understand now why Nyberg is so highly rated, and I am very happy to add my name to the extensive list of satisfied customers."
