"Overall the installation process was good. One major error the technician did. After installation he ignited the gas without filling water in the tank. We heard some cracking noise and he rushed to shut down the gas. Hard to see what damage happened inside. I assume the glass liner inside the tank probably cracked and it would impact the product life beyond warranty. I expected the technician to tell me the mistake and ensure me there is no problem due to the error but he did not. Other item was they damaged dry wall while moving the old heater outside from basement. I am not worried about the drywall fixing but worried about the possible internal liner cracking."

"He wasn’t able to work on the pipe without causing further damage. He wrote a detailed note for me to explain the problem to the next plumber. My only issue was they don’t have payment plans, but the plumber they dispatched was nice and professional"

"EXCELLENT! Prompt scheduling. Dustin and co-worker called to see if they could come early which worked out great for me. They laid out drop cloth so as to not soil my new carpet. They got my fireplace working and instucted me in its use. They were kind enough to answer ALL of my questions. I even got a quote to install two gas lines for a dryer and stove and it was half the price of the another quote from a different provider. Great service at a great price!"

"A++ Clog-Busters!! We called in the early morning and they were out to our house within a couple of hours. We will definately recommend this company to friends and family! Chris V., the plumber, who was professional and knowledgeable, came to our house and within an hour he had diagnosed, and de-clogged the main drain, and re-set the toilet. He also left our house clean of the debris pulled from the drain. Thank-you!"

"I was given a quote for sink replacement prior to the service call. The Plumber replaced the sink, even though the opening needed adjustment. The plumber got the sink to fit and everything worked out fine and within the quoted price. I am happy with the service and would call on Heaney Plumbing again. Many thanks to Harvey for installing the sink."

FAQs for gas piping projects in New Baltimore, MI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
