"I have used this company many times for multiple homes and businesses over the last few years. In fact, their honesty and integrity as a company are what made me continue to recommend them to clients and even colleagues. I no longer stand by this. They have fallen into the same type of deceptive business practice as many other AC companies. I am unsure if they have switched management or even ownership, but this is not the same company I trusted. Today they were called out for preventative maintenance. The AC worked perfectly fine this AM. In fact, this unit had just been serviced by an experienced technician that they employ 2 weeks prior. It was that representative that told us we were past due for our preventative maintenance and who encouraged us to set it up. Once the technician, Jacalyn Dobberstein, arrived, who has only worked for this company for less than 3 months and had no prior experience in this field, the unit mysteriously stopped working. She did NOT ask my husband for approval of any work that she was doing prior. Rather installed what she thought it needed, charged us for it, and then when it still did not work, had the boss come over. 3 hours later and over $200 later, turns out, she was not accurate on her diagnosis. I understand standing behind your employees but come on, this time the customer was right, you lost a patron. We will never use your services again."

"Chris was excellent. He is not a salesman or front office type guy. He is the guy who actually installs the lights, and as a licensed electrician he speaks with knowledge. I was confident enough in his ability and integrity to pay him before actually seeing the installed lights at night. He then came out twice to reposition lights and make some changes. I unhesitatingly recommend him."

"Extremely disappointed with their service. I was charged 4 times for a single visit. I was being charged weeks later after the visit. Called the office but never got a return call. They just keep taking my money. They have taken $460 from my bank account for a $115 service."

"They could not get a permit in 5 months after contract signing and then Cancelled contract without Cause. This left me without a system and no Tax credit or savings from the system promised. The contract is written to favor them almost on every issue and is small print on the back of the sales agreement. I sent them a certified letter giving them more time to complete the work without a return response."

"If I could give them 10 stars I would! Having been in the service and construction industries for over 20 years, I've dealt with a lot of providers and contractors. I was very fortunate to come across SW FL Air Quality for a last-minute job that needed to be completed ASAP. From my initial conversation with Laura and Abby in their office to working with Mike on a proposal and timeline, I was very impressed with their professionalism, courtesy, and overall attention that they give to their customers. Everything that I was told from Laura and Abby matched with Mike said and vice versa. Its not often that the office and field are on the same page but these guys were a cohesive team. Their pricing was fair and they were able to get to me exactly when they said (actually a day sooner), which was 45 days ahead of their competition. The workmanship, attention to detail, and knowledge from Mike and his crew is exactly what a contractor should provide. I was greatly impressed with everyone at SW FL Air Quality and if you live within 100 miles of their office, you are doing yourself or your customers a disservice if you dont use them. I will recommend them to anyone that needs HVAC work...fan for life! Great work guys and thank you to SW FL Air for doing exactly what you said you would, when you said you would, and providing my project the experise needed to get it done right!!! 10 star review"

FAQs for home energy audit projects in North Port, FL

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
