""We were very impressed with Michael Vergara from Maverick Inspection Services! He answered our call right away, walked us through the process of all the different inspections, which was important for being a first-time home buyer! He did our inspection the very next week and was very thorough. We strongly recommend his services to everyone!" - Shane and Nicole Mulligan"

"Great, we don't pay for electricity any more! The team was respectful, honest and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them to anyone considering solar. <br /> <br /> I thought we might have problems with the HOA because we have a large system and some of the panels are on the front of the house but I found out that it is against FL law for them to keep me from going solar. Ha! The black framed panels are slim, so they look fine. <br /> <br /> Anyway, the system produces enough electricity to cover our power use throughout the year. Thanks to the new smart meter that they put in, we get full credit for every kilowatt hour that we produce all year. Usually we produce way more than we need in the spring and then in the summer once the AC system kicks on, we end up eating into those credits. It feels great to be in a net-zero energy home. Now we don't have to worry about electricity prices going up for the next few decades since the solar panels came with a 25 year warranty."

"It was truly the best experience I have ever had with a service vendor. My A/C motor was broke down at the worse moment. We had a new baby at home. Everyone went out of their way to adjust their schedules and made sure I got the service I needed. Rick, the service technician, was awesome. He was invested in our situation and went out of his way to make sure my family was taken care of and we got the solution we needed. You never see that nowadays.Rick really cares about the customer. Veronica in Customer Care was extremely cordial and Dave provided outstanding service and walked me through all aspects of the repair. He really educated me on the process and was the consummate professional. He knows his stuff. I really can't imagine getting better service than what I got from this company. Exceptional service and people who really care about the customer!! What more can you ask for. I am not one that typically does reviews but this was compelling. I hope the owner reads this review. Awesome job by everyone!! <br />"

"Called Above & Beyond to perform a diagnostic on a home HVAC system for my rental property and Chris came out promptly as scheduled. He provided the cost for repair and also a new unit. After performing comparisons of costs and benefits we went with a new HVAC install. I then called other ac companies to compare costs and Above & Beyond was the best price and warranty. I hired them to install the new unit and they were prompt as scheduled and performed the install. They went over the operation and maintenance with my tenant. I would recommend them for any AC service and install."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Orlando, FL

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
