"From start to finish they are by far the absolute most professional, fair, company I have EVER had the pleasure to work with. I needed to have my underground oil tank removed (which had recently failed a pressure test.) I was selling my home and needed my tank removed as a condition for selling my home. ALL the other companies I spoke too painted a doomsday scenario in which I would have to pay 20 to 30 thousand dollars to remove. Shelly was comforting, and optimistic. She didn't fill me with terror or try to panic me more than I was already. She NEVER quoted me a massive estimate. Instead she gave me an estimate that was a fraction of every other estimate. When the day came to remove the tank the Optima team came promptly and was fully prepared to do the job. As Shelly predicted the job went flawlessly, and they found my tank had NOT leaked, and the tank was actually in good condition despite it's advanced age. Within a couple hours the tank was safely removed! Great job!! "

"The company removed an underground tank that had been partially filled with fuel for more than 20 years. Jeff responded quickly to my inquiry, assessed the work, provided a detailed proposal and the company carried out the work without any problem. There were no surprises. They had to remove some large shrubs and replanted them after the job was done - the same day. The site was cleaned up perfectly. My experience with the company was excellent and I recommend them highly."

"One of the owners of C2G came to my home Paul. He gave me a fair estimate, I had checked a few other companies, and C2G was in the ball park with fuel oil tank replacement. Nbb"

FAQs for water or fuel tank remove projects in Port Chester, NY

There are several reasons why you might need to remove an oil tank. In some areas, local regulations require tanks to be removed after a certain period. Leaking tanks can pose hazards to drinking water and the environment. Plus, many municipalities won't allow property sales until an inspection confirms the oil tank is safe.

One option for disposing of an oil tank is to have your removal pro take it to a dismantling yard or salvage yard for recycling. If a salvage yard isn’t an option, you can contact a local landfill or a local oil tank removal service for help finding a proper disposal location for your tank. Typically, you’ll need to show there’s no sludge or residue in the tank.

A leaking oil tank reveals itself through increased energy bills and a noticeable oily sheen on water surfaces, which signals a malfunction. You may also experience strong oil odors and observe stained grass and deteriorating vegetation near your property. These clear warning signs demand immediate professional evaluation to protect the environment and secure your property’s safety.

Yes, states mandate soil testing during oil tank removal to detect hazardous pollutants that harm the environment. This testing confirms that no soil contamination exists. Certified specialists collect soil samples to meet regulatory requirements and ensure property safety. Conducting these tests protects water quality and the structure’s integrity while immediately triggering any necessary remediation measures.
