I discovered that there was a leak under my kitchen sink when I was digging in the back of the cabinet for something and found the entire cabinet floor flooded, wet-warped and greatly damaged from water. It had apparently been leaking for quite some time from an old reverse osmosis system that hadn't been used in years. My HomeServe water line contract did not cover this so I checked with Angie's List. I saw that Glenn Tatum Plumbing was offering a Deal so I called them to confirm the price and to get an estimate for the final cost. Unfortunately to get the Deal I'd have to get on a waiting list of approx.10 days. Everyone wants the Deal so I can understand why they can't give all Deals same-day service. At the rate the lines were leaking I couldn't wait that long. So I asked what the "ASAP Appointment" would cost and was given an estimate of $133. I agreed and about an hour later Chris and Brad arrived and went right to work. They were very personable, knowledgeable and professional. They had the job wrapped up in a little over an hour and stuck to the quoted price of $133, which did include a 5% Angie's List member discount. It's great to have that little emergency over with as well as to have the storage space back again after removal of the reverse osmosis system.

I would definitely recommend Glenn Tatum Plumbing and will use them again if the need arises. Hopefully I'll be able to catch them on an Angie's List Deal when it's not such an urgent matter. Thanks guys, great work!

"I needed my Zone 5 buried valve box found and repaired as that zone was not working. I needed my Zone 3 buried box found for my information. American Irrigation answered the phone promptly when I called and scheduled service within a few days. They gave me pricing over the phone for the initial service call and use of the valve box scanning tool - so I knew what that would be. The pleasant office person indicated that once my Zone 5 box was located, there would then be a free estimate of work to fix issues found and I could decide at that point if I wanted them to continue. An available slot came up and they fit me into their schedule two days early. Two gentlemen called to let me know they were on their way and arrived early! Their truck/van was marked and labeled professionally with all company information. I liked that for safety reasons. The gentlemen were knowledgeable, very thorough, worked quickly, and were extremely pleasant. First, they checked my irrigation controller for electrical issues with the non-working zone 5 (no water coming out of sprinklers). Second, they turned on the irrigation system looking for any potential overall problems with sprinkler heads, lines and such - which there were some minor issues. Third, within two minutes (not kidding) they found my two buried Zones 3 and 5 valve boxes for which I did not know the locations. If I were a mole or burrowing gopher digging in the yard, I would never have found them. They were in the most surprising locations. Well worth the money to me. Fourth, without hesitation I gave them permission to do any necessary repair work. After finding the zone 5 buried valve box, they dug it up and fixed the waterless zone by replacing the bad valve/solenoid part. All parts/tools were on their truck. They also adjusted and fixed other sprinkler heads and tested the entire system. The gentleman cleaned up the yard and took all broken parts and trash. They marked the 2 zone boxes with flags so my yard service folks will see them (hopefully) and keep them visible from this point forward, like my other ones! Payment by credit card in my garage was easy. They do have an Angie’s List coupon too - I just forgot to give it to them (my fault). I allowed them to place company sticker on my control box and received several business cards. I have confidence I can call American Irrigation if there is an issue whether we are here or not. I had a great experience; they gave me peace of mind with the system and would recommend."

FAQs for water or fuel tank remove projects in Orlando, FL

There are several reasons why you might need to remove an oil tank. In some areas, local regulations require tanks to be removed after a certain period. Leaking tanks can pose hazards to drinking water and the environment. Plus, many municipalities won't allow property sales until an inspection confirms the oil tank is safe.

One option for disposing of an oil tank is to have your removal pro take it to a dismantling yard or salvage yard for recycling. If a salvage yard isn’t an option, you can contact a local landfill or a local oil tank removal service for help finding a proper disposal location for your tank. Typically, you’ll need to show there’s no sludge or residue in the tank.

A leaking oil tank reveals itself through increased energy bills and a noticeable oily sheen on water surfaces, which signals a malfunction. You may also experience strong oil odors and observe stained grass and deteriorating vegetation near your property. These clear warning signs demand immediate professional evaluation to protect the environment and secure your property’s safety.

Yes, states mandate soil testing during oil tank removal to detect hazardous pollutants that harm the environment. This testing confirms that no soil contamination exists. Certified specialists collect soil samples to meet regulatory requirements and ensure property safety. Conducting these tests protects water quality and the structure’s integrity while immediately triggering any necessary remediation measures.
