"I was expecting and prepared to have to tunnel or break concrete, but Morgan Leak Detection came in, located the leak and was able to bypass the bad line and reroute it with only a few simple to patch holes in the drywall. They were able to get a repair I expected to cost $7000 down to $2000. They are definitely not the cheapest guys in town if compared task for task, but they close the gap in service, honesty, and efficiency. I wanted a specialist for my problem and I was willing to pay to get the best. They delivered and I believe saved me a great deal of money in the long run. I had a friend with a similar problem a few weeks ago who got a huge quote from another plumber. I told her to give Morgan a call. Again, they found the leak and were able to perform a reroute that saved her money over the tunneling proposed by the other guy and Morgan was able to get to the job sooner to boot. This is definitely one of those cases of you getting what you pay for. They are a highly skilled company, do quality work, and won't try to jerk you around for more costly or complicated solutions. If you want it fixed right the first time, give them a call."

"I turned to Angie’s List to find someone to do some excavation work & leveling for an above ground swimming pool. We purchased our pool in April and reached out to at least a dozen or more companies and they were all either no shows or no response (even after providing us with a quote). It has been beyond frustrating because it was now July and no pool!! So I called Daylon with Giddens & Assoc and immediately got a response back. He came out that same day to look at our property and go over the project. He spent well over an hour discussing our plans & ideas for the project and provided us with a quote by that same evening. We we’re very impressed with him and his enthusiasm for his work so we scheduled a date and a week later he and his crew showed up and knocked it out. He’s personable, punctual, responsive, knowledgeable, and dependable. He does exactly what he says he’s going to do, period! We are very pleased with Giddens & Assoc and would definitely recommend them in the future!!!"

"After Mike Foote met with me he sent an email on 8/23 telling me that he was going to pass on our project because he felt it was going to be too big a job for his company to handle. I really appreciated his honesty. He's someone I'll definitely keep in mind if someone is looking for a landscaper."

I usually obtain at least 3 estimates but Jarrods assessment is what I expected. I have some experience with this type of work. I wanted it done over the holidays when I had time off.  They made it happen.  The crew showed up on time and did not leave until the job was done - same day.  The supervisor, Paulino, communicated well and we both agreed not to try to get the house perfectly level because it could have resulted in a major plumbing problem.  The one thing that bothered me during the work was the amount of movement occurring in my house during the installation of the piers.  I am not sure if this could have been reduced.  I have 14 feet of tight clay under my house so pressing concrete pilings in using the weight of the house caused it to lift off and on for each pier.  Perhaps metal rods or similar would have resulted in less disturbance or lift during installation, I am not sure.

The good news is the majority of the cracks in the wallboard, tile, and exterior brick sealed very quickly.  However, the next day I spotted 6 or 7 new cracks in the wall board on the front side of the house where most of the lifting occurred.  They said this happens a lot because of the sudden change after years of gradual settling. The doors that were sticky now work correctly; although my front door is now rubbing on the bottom.  They indicated this happens sometimes and I will need to have it adjusted at my expense in the future. One clear problem was one of the drain boxes they installed as part of my French drain system.  It was placed right next to my porch in the back yard and I consider it a tripping hazard because its a steep drop off.  They did send a person out after a few days to look at it and he agreed it should be relocated to have grass on all sides so it can slope gently away from it on all sides. He said he would turn in his request to the owners for it to be relocated. So I may have to wait several weeks before this is resolved.  I will report back if there is a problem.

The engineer they work with showed up nearly 45 minutes early without warning.  He was a bit defensive and pretty abrupt when I had a number of questions.  I just wanted to understand the basis of a warranty and whether the house was repair sufficiently for resale.  He probably did a good job, just not real open to questions.

I know their service was priced competitively and I appreciate them being straightforward, not using any fear-based tactics. I failed the sewer line test and will have to pay for a plumber to come out.  The test itself which is needed to isolate various sections of the whole sewer line under my house will cost between $500 and $900. My insurance company, Liberty Mutual will not pay for it or any of the foundation or plumbing repairs. Its possible I had this problem before the foundation work was done.  If its well underneath the house and not near the piers that were installed, then I believe that will confirm it was probably pre-existing.  So at this time the experience has not been pleasant, but it needed to be done and I believe their approach, which was on the conservative side was probably appropriate.  My advice is to have your foundation checked sooner than later if you suspect problems exist.  I really need more time to pass before I can accurately give a grade because of the complications and stress related to all of this.  For now my overall grade is B.

FAQs for water or fuel tank remove projects in Dallas, TX

There are several reasons why you might need to remove an oil tank. In some areas, local regulations require tanks to be removed after a certain period. Leaking tanks can pose hazards to drinking water and the environment. Plus, many municipalities won't allow property sales until an inspection confirms the oil tank is safe.

One option for disposing of an oil tank is to have your removal pro take it to a dismantling yard or salvage yard for recycling. If a salvage yard isn’t an option, you can contact a local landfill or a local oil tank removal service for help finding a proper disposal location for your tank. Typically, you’ll need to show there’s no sludge or residue in the tank.

A leaking oil tank reveals itself through increased energy bills and a noticeable oily sheen on water surfaces, which signals a malfunction. You may also experience strong oil odors and observe stained grass and deteriorating vegetation near your property. These clear warning signs demand immediate professional evaluation to protect the environment and secure your property’s safety.

Yes, states mandate soil testing during oil tank removal to detect hazardous pollutants that harm the environment. This testing confirms that no soil contamination exists. Certified specialists collect soil samples to meet regulatory requirements and ensure property safety. Conducting these tests protects water quality and the structure’s integrity while immediately triggering any necessary remediation measures.
