"First, my project was to install, from scratch, a new HVAC system, including ducting, with tha furnace in basement (initially, it was upstears in a closed). Last year and early this year, I got 3 contractors on site, by direct call, and none of them answered my spefic questions but taking pictures and promising that will send an estimate. I never got it. I was getting anxious. So I got the idea go to Angi. First visit I got in the same day I put my request on Angie's site, called his boss advice me to just change the furnace. I could not, because the previous system was heating OK only one half of the house. Finally, next day I got AJB visit an made me happy. He understood perfectly what I wanted and my concerns and explained to better and quite ingenious solutions on my suggestions. I understood him perfectly because I have strong knowledge of aero-dinamicsor or fluid mechanics so I signed the contract right then. Now, I have a sweet warm house in every corner of it."

"Henry and John provided the service and were very professional. Although they arrived a bit later than expected, the inspection was performed efficiently and completed well within the one hour I had expected it to take. I had been remiss in replacing my filters and Henry explained to me why it is important to change them every three months. Knowing the possible consequences will lead me to be more responsible in the future. My A/C unit is installed in an attic and even though the ladder I provided was rather short, Henry said not to bother getting a longer one and made do with what I had provided. John volunteered to carry the ladder back downstairs and carried the longer, heavy wooden ladder out to the yard for me. I was also pleased that both men put on shoe covers to walk through my house. In sum, the service was carried out professionally and cordially and I would definitely use their services again."

"The good: They came on Sunday. The Bad: Bait and Switch -- did not clean the main line (about 20 ft worth of duct) because they wanted another $250 to do 10 minutes worth of work. I opted for $200 for 30 minutes worth of work. The ugly: Angie's List's new format does not allow you to have reasonable expectations about cost and the work to be done. "He spent a lot of time explaining things and even went out of his way to help repair a humidifier. In the process, he also found a number of things to be replaced and/or repaired. Assuming my units work properly (its too cold now to really test), I think it was worth it. I was concerned when one unit stopped working during his work. He was able to find that a connection was not working and switched wires. Given all the press about AC repair vendors that find ways to break things so that they need to be replaced, I was wary. In fact, that's why I put off the inspection this long. Nevertheless, the time and effort Ivan spent explaining things to me and showing them to me made me feel more comfortable. So...a $100 inspection turned into a $550 preventative repair, plus more in the winter......but for now, I would definitely call him back."
