"The installation went well. Austin and Rene were my technicians and did a good job installing the new equipment, including an electrical line to the new humidifier and replacing the water lines above the new water heater. It turned out the humidifier wouldn't fit in the original planned location, but they were able to install it on the garage wall directly behind the utility room. Horne also sent out a different technician (Bryan) to perform a follow-up QA inspection about a week after the installation to check everything, apply finishing touches, and make sure the equipment was operating properly. I have used them before and would use them again."

"I would absolutely recommend Cool Comfort Heating & Air Company.  I have dual systems installed by them in my home.  They replaced one of them in the spring last year.  They are the only ones I use.  I would continue to use them in the future."

"Great experience. Gary, the estimator showed up on time, evaluated the existing upstairs AC, and gave me two options to replace the evaporator coil and outside condenser with firm prices. Included in the estimates was also addition work I requested. All of the work was done the following Monday. The new unit is 2.0 SEER2 better than the old unit. Bradham Brothers included a new programmable thermostat with WiFi access. They also provided two new CO2 detectors. The county inspector was pleased with their work. All total, Bradham Brothers exceeded my expectations."

"We called another heating/cooling company for a promotional tuneup of our cooling/heating systems. We have furnace/air for our downstairs and a heat pump for our upstairs. They did some routine work and found a major problem with our heat pump system, wanted an arm and a leg to fix it. I called our home-owners warranty company who works with American Air Heating and Cooling. For the price of our deductible, American fixed it, timely and efficiently. Chris Jones did all of the work and I would recommend American and Mr. Jones for any heating/cooling challenges that you might have. A very clean neat job. He wore footies over his shoes when he came inside and removed all of the used parts. Some of the work that the competitor recommended was not necessary. I would guess that the competitor has to pay for their tv ? promotional advertising somehow. The work was done in Nov. 2013 and has been working fine since then."

"I met the owner, who came on short notice when a company doing conversion of our water heater to natural gas did something that ‘shorted out’ our AC.  I was so impressed with their service that we signed a continuing maintenance agreement.  They come out twice a year to check out your heating and cooling system to head off any potential problems.  They haven’t tried to upsell us anything upon their inspections, they did find a ‘switch’ that was going bad and replaced it this past spring.  They didn’t say we HAD to have it replaced but that it might not make it through the summer; so we did have it replaced. It cost around $80."

"Reggie did a superior job installing the new valve within two hours. He appreciated the fact that I had opened the wall for him (doing the grunt work), and saved him time on that--- although he does this quite routinely when there is no access panel. I feel that the price was on the high side ($400) for only two hours of labor. I did discuss this with the office manager subsequently, and she graciously made on adjustment given that I performed all of the prep work. It is important to note that this company Automatically charges a $79 estimate fee whether you do the work or not, and this is NOT subtracted from the job price. Secondly, this company does Not charge by the hour, but has an established fee for each type of plumbing job. This being said, I would work with this company again. Again, I was pleased with the work that Reggie performed."

""Bundling" a review for 3 jobs from January 2016 through March 2017. After a neighbor recommended another plumber to address a few minor problems, we found McCoy and are glad we did. While our "recommended" plumber indicated our low pressure was due to issues with our water supply line (since our PRV was open all the way), McCoy correctly diagnosed the problem as just the opposite - the valve was fully CLOSED. Our McCoy tech adjusted our pressure to increase flow while minimizing pipe noise in conjunction with a swap of three builder Delta showerheads for new Speakman heads. Late last year, Josh installed a new condensate drain through a wall in a bonus room to our vent stack to accommodate permanent installation of a dehumidifier. Scott (the owner) provided the quote and was involved in the design, and the solution is working perfectly 6 months later. Keep in mind that you are paying for high-quality, well-trained plumbers, so a service call to clear slow drains may not be the best use of their time or your $! In retrospect, $155 to clear two slow drains was a job better suited to my own or a handyman's abilities and pay scale!"

"Jim was very helpful and personable to work with.  I had recently moved to the Huntsville area and was unable to connect my wireless printer.   There were also some things going on with my laptop that made me suspect a virus had somehow gotten on to it, it was running more slowly than usual, and I wasn't happy with the Win7 configuration I had done when I bought the computer.  Jim came in and assessed the problems and we agreed on a time for him to take the laptop and reinstall the OS.  He was able to get the wireless connection to work as well.  He took the computer on a Friday evening and returned it Sunday evening in prime condition.
A few weeks later I  got an error message while reinstalling my accounting software so I called Jim.  He talked me through the problem over the phone and I was able to get the program installed so I could use the program.
Jim is great to work with, his pricing is very fair, he is prompt and reliable.  I will definitely use his services again.

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Rock Hill, SC

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
