"I purchased a deal for a toilet tune-up, but we wound up needing to replace the toilet altogether. My daughter had to go to Home Depot and purchase a new toilet, without any advice from the plumber on which one to get because he would not return her calls. My daughter checked the reviews on the toilets online and got advice from the plumbing specialist at Home Depot. She wound up purchasing a toilet from a brand the plumber does not like, so he informed us he would not offer any guarantees for his installation. It has only been a week and the toilet is still working, but it is frightening that he would not give any guarantees. Because he was unable to give us the 5 year guarantee for the toilet like he does for others, he should have advised us to purchase a different one. Instead he went ahead and installed it and said he would not warrant it. He charged an astronomical amount for installing the new toilet. Home Depot had an installation price of $109 and he charged $250. If we had known he would do that, we would have never gone with him."

"To say we were happy with Temperature-Control would be an understatement of the nth degree. We hire T-C to install a new, high-end Trane heat pump & air handler in our home. At every step they were professional & responsive. They showed up on time, sent pictures of all employees visiting our property, answered every question we asked and a few we hadn't thought of. The work was done on-time, everything was clean and neat and they checked in at many steps in the process to ensure we were happy and understood what was going on. So far we're 2-3 weeks in with the system and it's operating great. I would recommend this company quite enthusiastically to anyone looking for a new heating/cooling solution in their home."

"MY AC was out for three weeks and the company that the warranty company assigned me to did not know what they were doing. They wanted unsafe modifications made to my attic to get the unit in. After unbelievable frustration I was able to get the warranty company to switch me over to Armer. Within one week they installed my new system. No modifications were needed. They were all nice and communication was great. The two young men that installed did a great job and a month later, I have AC running. Thank you for coming in and making this happen!"

"Vintage Air called to confirm the appointment then texted me when he was on his way. His van was professionally signed identifying his company. He was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He did not try to up sale me or sell me things that were not needed. Very honest. I definitely would hire Vintage Air again."

"Jim did a great job. He quickly assessed the problem and then took our unit with him to work on it more. When he got back to us, the fix would have cost more than it was worth. He gave us options for a new or refurbished PC. We felt the refurbished was a good deal and chose that. He came back and set that up and we are very happy with it. He then took a look at my laptop and again took it along. He tuned it up and installed a speed upgrade we wanted. Of course, we paid extra for the new unit and upgrades, but we thought the price was very fair. Jim seemed very knowledgeable and responsive. We will definitely call him again if we need any computer services."

"He cleaned & cleared the drain, then installed a small heat probe that keeps it from freezing again, then replaced a shelf support that I had jerry-rigged, with an honest to goodness sturdy support."

"

Purchased install on Angies list and scheduled appointment for a Saturday 1pm. Received a call 30 minutes before scheduled appointment that he had car trouble and would like to reschedule. I said that's fine and to call me on Monday to reschedule. Never received a call. E-mailed Marshall Insulation either to call me to reschedule or to refund my purchase. Received  an e-mail back with an apology and Jeff would be calling me to reschedule. Jeff called and appointment was set up for that up coming Saturday. appointment went fine. Jeff was very professional, put $200 deposit down for install on 11/15/2014. Install went fine other than Jeff had informed that a damper was needed for proper air flow to provide better circulation and was added to work during 1st appointment. At time of install Jeff had told me that I did not need the damper it would be fine. After install my wife told me that one of the workers had told her they had brought the wrong size damper for install. This was a little upsetting due to the fact I was told it wasn't needed. I called Jeff that day that I needed the damper installed and the energy rating certificate, Jeff said he would schedule and get this completed. I called Jeff a week later and said I had not heard from him. Jeff said he was sorry and would text me about scheduling the completion within the next 3 days. I waited another week and never heard from Jeff. I text Jeff and still no response. I called owner of Marshall Insulation and he got Jeff on the line. Talked with Jeff and scheduled the completion for 12/03/14.

The actual work performed was good and Jeff was always very courteous. The communication toward the customer was very poor for scheduling /completing job. I felt I was not told the truth about the damper issue and that I had to call the owner to finish the job; which the owner never even called to check on completion of work knowing that I was not happy.

"The service was great! The technician was professional and did a very thorough job. The technician let me know if I ever needed repairs in the future I could save money by signing up for their yearly maintenance plan. I went ahead and signed up for their platinum plan and I look forward to my free fall visit. I will recommend this company to all my family and friends. "

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in San Manuel, AZ

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
