Our name is Ape & Canary and we've been in business since 2015. In Feb 2018 we moved from our original location to our present spot. What we moved into was formerly a 3 story brick carriage house built in 1893 that sits adjacent to its 12,000 sq ft mansion built in the same year. The 2 guys that bought the mansion and carriage house renovated the carriage house to accommodate what is now a 6,000 sq ft spa and salon. Their business ended up closing after being open for a year and we moved into what they built - it was turn key ready. We expanded our staff and settled in to present day. We now have 27 employees - the third floor is a salon with 8 stylists and vaulted ceilings. The second floor houses our nail room and spa - we have 4 nail techs, 6 massage therapists and 4 estheticians. With the experience we want to provide, the price we charge for services and the ins and outs of a historic building the noise challenges that present themselves need to be mitigated. I'm also happy to take some photos from my phone during the day and send along to give you a lay of the land. One more thing, we are located in the city of Rochester, so at times there may be a fire truck, police vehicle or ambulance whaling its siren and driving by or a lawn mower in the summer when our neighboring businesses and hotel are being landscaped during someone's massage or facial.
