"I hired GSM Services to replace my A/C unit and furnace with a newer, upgraded system. A few weeks ago Kelly came to my house to give me an estimate for a new heating and air system. He was on time and very professional. He surveyed my existing system, took measurements of my house, and did some calculations to determine exactly what type and capacity system that I would need. He showed and explained to me several options as well as their prices. He wasn’t pushy as he left in order to give me time to review the different options before making my decision. I called the office the next day with my decision and to set up a date and time for installation. Today (May 22) Kyle and Craig showed up on time and were extremely professional as well. They worked from 8:30 to 5:30 completing the replacement of my entire heating/air system. The field team leader also showed up just to ensure that everything was going smoothly. They were very helpful in answering any questions that I had throughput the day and they took the time to explain to me about the new system after installation was complete (I.e. how to operate the new programmable thermostat). Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely use them again."

"I love this company! They did a fantastic job 6 years ago when they installed a new AC unit for us. They've provided us excellent service ever since. Last week we finally decided to replace the furnace, too. They gave us the quote on Wednesday afternoon, and they were here bright and early Friday morning to start the work. "My upstairs air conditioner had not been working well and increasingly had trouble cooling the area, with sky high electric bills ensuing, until it just blew out (warm) air.  It reached 84 degrees in my upstairs office and even hotter in our TV room.  I called our warranty company and they referred me to American Air.  I was hesitant to use this company because I'd heard horror stories about companies that warranty companies refer you to.  The warranty had been inherited from the prior homeowner which I had just recently, but not whole-heartedly, renewed.  However as an Angie's list member I decided to look up the reviews and was very pleasantly surprised with all the tremendous reviews and from mostly warranty customers.  So I hired them and they did not disappoint.  
Chris Jones arrived less than 24 hours after the call was made and within the time window estimated.  He was professional, honest, knew what he was doing and taught me a few things.  My air filters had not been changed in 6 months (embarrassing!) and some of them were really dirty.  He said that filters should be replaced between 1 and 3 months when they begin to show any little bit amount of darkening and that when filters are dirty it makes your system work harder.  So that was a good lesson.  Also the system is 14 years old and is probably working on borrowed time since he explained systems last between 10 - 12 years so replacement could be in the future.  The system was also low on refrigerant which was added, he tightened some valves and cycled the system.   He said to see how things go within the next month or so since there could be other issues going on such as a leak in the system.  So maybe this was a stop-gap measure....not really sure.
Chris said it would take about 24 hours to cool things down.  Much to my delight this morning the air temp has already reached the setting.  What relief!  
We also spoke of a service agreement and I plan to sign up and request Chis in the future.

"They did a good job. They took out the vents and cleaned them. They vacuumed. They had a vacuum that looked like a hot air balloon. They filtered everything and got all the dust and debris. They did a real good job. They vacuumed the dryer out as well. They ran a device up there that swirls around and cleans it before they vacuum. Then they went up into the attic and did the ducts up there. So they cleaned the individual units. They were very clean. I would recommend them."

"I met the owner, who came on short notice when a company doing conversion of our water heater to natural gas did something that ‘shorted out’ our AC.  I was so impressed with their service that we signed a continuing maintenance agreement.  They come out twice a year to check out your heating and cooling system to head off any potential problems.  They haven’t tried to upsell us anything upon their inspections, they did find a ‘switch’ that was going bad and replaced it this past spring.  They didn’t say we HAD to have it replaced but that it might not make it through the summer; so we did have it replaced. It cost around $80."

"Jim was very helpful and personable to work with.  I had recently moved to the Huntsville area and was unable to connect my wireless printer.   There were also some things going on with my laptop that made me suspect a virus had somehow gotten on to it, it was running more slowly than usual, and I wasn't happy with the Win7 configuration I had done when I bought the computer.  Jim came in and assessed the problems and we agreed on a time for him to take the laptop and reinstall the OS.  He was able to get the wireless connection to work as well.  He took the computer on a Friday evening and returned it Sunday evening in prime condition. 
A few weeks later I  got an error message while reinstalling my accounting software so I called Jim.  He talked me through the problem over the phone and I was able to get the program installed so I could use the program.
Jim is great to work with, his pricing is very fair, he is prompt and reliable.  I will definitely use his services again.
