"Pretty quick job, took about 3 days to install engineered hardwood floors in my basement. Some areas are separating a bit now, but I'll fill in those gaps with some filler. Cheaper than Empire and other company quotes. They ripped the previous carpeting out and hauled it away and did a good cleanup job. New stair flooring installed too. I'm quite happy with the work, minus the separation, but maybe that just happens when the floor settles?"

"William did an excellent job. The tile floor looks beautiful. I would use his services again without a doubt. The detail William performed can’t be match. What a perfectionist. The price was very fair too."

"Brian from Torres flooring reached out to me immediately after I submitted my request, and quickly gave me a quote and did the repair that day! We had a small section of our vinyl floor cut out by our previous owners to install a wooden railing. We removed the railing and needed the flooring patched with some of the flooring we had stored away. I contacted so many floor companies who said the job was 'too risky' and declined the job, or told us we needed to replace the entire floor (for like $5k). Brian was super friendly and said he could do the job no problem, understood what we needed done, and did a great job! We were seriously getting desperate and didn't know if we were ever going to get our floor fixed. HUGE thank you to Brian for the expertly rescuing our floor! "

"Figured out what was wrong with the floor. Told me the estimate up front. Knew what to expect. Everything went great. They went above and beyond."

"Tony did a good job. When their crew initially did the staircase and the wood was still showing near the stairnoses, Tony agreed to get it replaced. In about 2 weeks, he got the correct material from the manufacturer and got it installed. Now the stairnoses look great."

"This was our second time using Diaz for our painting and home renovations. Once again he and his team did an amazing job. For this job, we had Diaz paint our hallway and master, redo our stairs and stair railing, re-finish and stain the hardwood floors, remove old baseboard heaters, and do a complete renovation of our upstairs bathroom (new paint, new floors, new vanity, new toilet, new lighting, new exhaust fan, etc.). He also helped haul out old furniture, removed an old (non-functional) oil gas tank from the basement, and replaced a broken storm door. One of the great things about working with Diaz is that the answer is always yes. His team is more than just painters - he has skilled craftsmen, workers with expertise in plumbing and electric, and everything else. There is no need to deal with anyone else. If you need something done in (or around) your house Diaz either can do it or has a guy. After contacting Diaz, he came right out for a free estimate. He listened carefully to what we wanted but also made a number of important suggestions to improve the results. Each day his team was hard at work - they were trustworthy and courteous, and cleaned up perfectly each day. Diaz goes the extra mile to make things convenient - including hauling away trash/junk, recommending a local showroom, and picking up materials that we had ordered for the job. As with any major project, there were a few bumps in the road. But Diaz worked through the curveballs with good communication. They finished on-time and on budget, and the results were perfect. If you’re looking for versatility, reliability, attention to detail, and overall excellence, then Diaz is your man ."

"Master All floors was timely, professional, and competent The job was well-executed and cleanup was excellent. We are very pleased with the job from the first visit to explain the process and give us an estimate to the beautiful floor they installed in one day. The price was very reasonable. We highly recommend this company. "

FAQs for flooring install, repair, or refinish projects in Silver Spring, MD

Removing tile flooring is a messy job. Expect flying chip fragments, mortar dust, and plenty of debris. Protect the space with plastic sheeting and drop cloths, and gear up with goggles and a respirator before you start prying. Pros keep the mess in check by attaching industrial vacuums to their tools, a setup that captures dust at the source and leaves the work zone far cleaner than a DIY approach.

Removing the old tile first is almost always the smarter play. If you tile over worn or uneven flooring, the new surface can crack, pop, or sit higher than the surrounding rooms. Fixing that later costs far more, especially if you need to re-level the floor. By demoing the tile now, you get a flat, solid subfloor and avoid surprise repairs down the road.
