"I found them from the Angie List site so I called the number listed there.  I spoke with the answering service.  The representative was very nice and told me he would dispatch the request and that I could expect a call from the provider.  Within the hour I received the call and after discussing what was happening (handler was blowing air, outside condenser had voltage but was not working) he told me that I had the option of waiting until the next day (Monday) or I could pay a $75 emergency fee plus the cost of any repair if I didn't want to wait a day and wanted emergency service on Sunday.  I opted for the Sunday emergency service.  He said the technician would arrive between 11AM and 1 PM and would call when on the way.  Thirty minutes later at 11 AM the technician, Eric,  showed up,  He was very pleasant and professional and showed us what the issue was.  He also showed us how there was a buildup of grass clippings and dirt that impacted the life span of the motor.  He replaced the motor and used a hose and water to clean off the buildup.  He did not try to sell us anything other than what we needed for the repair, which I appreciated.  I asked if they did routine maintenance and he told me I could either pay per visit (gave me the cost) or I could opt for the annual maintenance contract (gave me that cost).  I chose the maintenance contract. He completed his work and checked that the system was working, He recommended that we get the coils cleaned and gave us the price for those.  We will be calling to schedule that service (was not surprised when he recommended it as I knew it was needed) and will be sure to ask for Eric when we do.  I am so happy to have found this AC company as a different AC  company had put in our system several years ago and they were rude, obnoxious, and did not show up for scheduled appointments. Looking forward to maintaining my AC system with Air America and Eric.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
