"Young Septic was so great in the middle of a serious septic ordeal. Randy was very clear and thorough about what the problem was, and was incredibly easy to work with the whole time. It took two days for a total septic system rebuild, and throughout the process they were there to answer any questions and explain anything we had questions with. They even let my excavator-obsessed daughter ask them a million questions. I’ll be sticking with them for maintenance for sure."

"Company repaired the issue in less than a week from contact. Appreciative of that. John was friendly and repaired the issue in a timely manner. Seems like there was some confusion in the beginning on the details of the project; maybe initial details from Angi’s wasn’t shared with the company. The company and I worked through that on the initial call which was fine. I am suggesting that maybe to confirm companies get the request info provided by the customer on the Angi site. Thanks for providing this service for repairs."

"We were in the process of selling our home and the septic inspection revlealed that our drainage field had failed. Legacy septic was very responsive to our closing/reloaction dates and had the drainage field replaced within 7 days of calling. Highly recommend."

"The work was excellent.  Also installed a new sump pump and water-jet backup sump system.  Again all work was excellent and I would not hesitate to use Johnathan again and would recommend him to anyone needing plumbing work.  He was upfront, punctual, and extremely reasonably priced."

"We needed our water heater replaced. It was somewhat complicated because we wanted to upgrade the tank in size, but we had limited room for it. There was some back and forth in finding the appropriate tank, but the salesperson and technicians were very pleasant to work with throughout the whole process. When the pipes were moved and the tank was installed, it was done efficiently and professionally. We are very happy with our experience and the final product."

FAQs for septic system repair projects in Taneytown, MD

You should have your septic tank inspected at least once every one to three years. Regular inspections help catch minor issues before they become major problems, ensuring your system operates efficiently and extends its lifespan. You can also have your pro take care of routine septic system maintenance tasks at the same time as your inspection.

A septic tank must be inspected before buying a home to ensure the system is sound and compliant with local regulations. A comprehensive inspection evaluates all critical components and detects hidden faults that could lead to expensive repairs. This detailed review protects your investment by verifying the system’s integrity and reliability.

A septic tank's leach field fails when it encounters system overload and deteriorating conditions. Excess water usage beyond the field’s capacity and environmental stress lead to hydraulic failure. Aging infrastructure and insufficient maintenance further contribute to failure. Distributing water use evenly and scheduling regular maintenance, including enzyme treatments when necessary, preserve the leach field’s integrity.

A septic system lasts between 20 and 30 years. Steel tanks function for 15 to 20 years, concrete tanks operate for 20 to 40 years, and fiberglass or plastic tanks remain durable for 30 to 40 years. Consistent maintenance, including regular pumping and inspections, extends these lifespans by preventing buildup and structural damage, ensuring reliable long-term performance.

A failing septic system presents clear signs such as slow-draining fixtures, foul odors at or around the leach field, and overly green patches of grass. Additional indicators include persistent toilet flushing problems, standing water near the system, and noticeable gurgling noises from pipes. These symptoms reveal blockages, structural damage, or leaks. Immediate professional evaluation is essential to address these issues and prevent extensive repair costs.
