"Return Air Vent Move - Tech cut a crude opening in the ceiling framework which did not properly fit the elbow duct he installed. Did not clean up sawdust and did not replace insulation he moved. Displeased with the quality of workmanship of their technician. Repaired the sloppy workmanship myself due to time constraints for my construction addition. Bowman owner said I should have called back to let them fix it. Plumbing for Half Bath - Owner arrived on Oct 9th, 2018 to give me a free estimate to do the job. He did not like the fact that I mentioned the poor quality of the Return Air Vent Move job. After reviewing my half bath requirements, he left but never got back to me with a quote for the job. Called HL. Bowman approximatley 3 weeks later on Oct 29th, 2018 to inquire about my quote. Rep. said he couldn't find anything regarding my quote request. He said he would check on it and get back to me. As of Nov 1, 2018 I have still not received a return call or my quote; very dissapointing. Will not use this vendor for any of their services. Got a quote from H.B. McClure Plumbing to do the rough in plumbing; $2100. Will probably use them because I have been happy with the quality of their workmanship in the past."

"He was timely, professional and responsive. He clearly knows the technical aspects of the trade and provided us with a lot of information about the equipment he would be installing and how it would work with our existing ductwork.  We did not care for his sales approach because he tried to sell us on things we did not ask for and did not need.  He tried to sell us on a humidifier for the system which we really don't need because we live right by the ocean where it is quite humid year round, even in the winter. Adding humidity to our house could cause problems with mildew or mold.   He also tried to sell us on replacing our hot water tank for a more efficient model even though ours is only 5 years old.  We got the feeling that he was trying to pack as much sales onto the heat loan program without really thinking about the customer's specific situation, and that put off me and my husband from wanting to work with him.  At the end of his sales presentation he decided on the spot he would give us an unspecified discount.  We did not like this high pressure sales tactic.  We had not received other quotes yet so we declined to decide on the spot.  He emailed us a couple days later offering a 10% discount if we decided by a certain date a couple days later.  We decided to wait beyond that date so we could get more bids.
Joe's quote was $2000 higher than a quote from another installer who has equally good reviews on Angies list.  Both quotes were to install the same equipment, however the second installer included the cost of converting two unused ducts into returns and installing a pass though in a ceiling to help balance our system.  I shared this information with Joe, and he responded by saying he would beat their price by $100.  It goes to show that it pays to shop around.
As Airco's good reviews on Angies list attest and my interactions with him, I am sure they would do quality work, but my husband and I were totally put off by his sales and pricing approach and did not want to work with the company as a result.

"I called on a Wednesday, and was expecting a call back in the coming days. When I did not get one, I called back, and that same day, they sent two men to our house and they completed three urgent jobs in short order: installed and tested a radiator, repaired a toilet that was failing to refill properly, and replaced a leaking section of our main water line. We will definitely call them again to get this old house in ship shape!"

"We've used Atlantic Heating and Air Conditioning for over 10 years for regular air conditioning maintenance/service and repairs. They also do service/repairs for our heating system. Recently, they provided valuable advice that allowed us to fix a thermostat malfunction on our own, saving us cost of a visit. We've always been satisfied with this company - visits were easy to schedule, staff were knowledgeable, work performed was well done."

He explained the process clearly, provided helpful advice, and ensured everything was working perfectly before leaving. His professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly approach made the experience stress-free and reassuring. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and expert HVAC care.""

"Super prompt, my AC system stopped working Sunday afternoon and he was able to come out the next morning and get my system working. Quickly found the issue, was able to thoroughly explain the problem, and fixed it. I would definitely recommend Armus Mechanical for AC service and will be using them any time my AC systems need service."
