I called Joyce Cooling & Heating and was told that they would have someone out that day, and that the Technician would call a half hour before arrival. Sure enough, the Technician called that afternoon and arrived right on time. Our Technician Josh, diagnosed the problem, and had us up and running within an hour! Jimmy came out as promised and reviewed the situation.  I had an Angie's List Special.  He advised that the problem was water leaking down through the Chimney which was causing the problem.

Jimmy told me that the Chimney could be wrapped with FSB, and that would solve the situation.  He also advised me that I should consider a Chimney Cap to prevent further problems with water degradation...

No one recommended this before, and it only made sense.

I have two Chimneys so I decided to go the full route, and have both done when they come back out to do the work.  (the other Chimney was already repaired by another servicer previously or I would have had Jimmy do that one as well)

The work went great, and I would very highly recommend their services.  I would use them again.

They were thorough, and cleaned everything up at the end.  Good attention to detail.

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. "I had taken the day off from work to accommodate the chimney sweep’s schedule. Which I was happy to do. However, I received a call at the time of the appointment indicating that the chimney sweep’s truck was broken down and there was no other service person in the area to service us. I’m a reasonable person and understand mechanical issues can happen. However, it was disappointing that I was given earlier notice. We rescheduled and the second service call was on time with a courtesy call ahead of time. There were three people who came to the house. One who appeared to be the team leader, was very courteous and seemed to be doing all the work. The other two were busy on their phones in the truck and only appeared to help after the lead service person corralled them to do their jobs. Both arrived at the door begrudgingly and looked very annoyed that they had to do anything at all. Again, the lead person did most of the work, did all the talking, cleaned up after himself, showed me the work he had performed and completed all the paperwork. So all in all they did the service requested. It’s just too bad the two helpers weren’t nearly as dedicated or congenial as the lead person. I share these details as a business owner myself and knowing the challenges of staffing and (right or wrong) how they are perceived by customers."

"Later, they actually sent their manager Mark to take another look who is more knowledgeable for the steam radiator system and finally found several leakages from radiator supply valves and other minor issues. They gave me a quote to replace valves and vents. Since then I have been tighten the nuts over the weekend and seems to fix most of the leakages."

"Called Steve on Monday morning at about 9am. Tried to explain job over phone, Steve provided ballpark numbers and offered to provide a better estimate by going to the sites. He's in Burlington, we're in Newton and Waltham. He could have no expectation of getting the job but he was fully prepared to invest time and effort into a quote. By 10:30 he was back with a quote that was significantly less than his ballpark. Felt like a no-brainer, so asked him to please go ahead.

The following morning (less than 24hrs from first contact) he went to site #1 and removed the material there - he removed all material, swept the area clean and picked up some yard waste that we hadn't even discussed - A+.

I met him at site #2. There was a lot more material here. He set about sorting and loading it and I left him to his work. When I returned later that day - everything had been removed right down to the last splinter!!! - A+.

From the time I first called him to the time all of the debris had been removed was less than 24 hours. Jack Bauer has nothing on this guy...

"This was among the best experiences I have had with any third-party contractor, period. We did an expensive central A/C replacement. Seashore Comfort was knowledgeable, responsive, professional and technically proficient. We needed a 20-year old A/C unit replaced. I called four area HVAC specialists and almost didn't call Seashore because they had relatively few online reviews (although the ones they did have were positive). Turns out the company was started relatively recently by a veteran tech and his wife, who worked locally for a couple of decades. Every aspect of this project was impressive - from the front-office communication to the quoting process to the technical description of what are options were to the quality and craftsmanship of the install. Furthermore, I _almost_ went with a different quote from the local "giant" and that would have been a huge mistake. It took quite a bit of technical research and education on my part but what that company was proposing would not have been the best choice of solution for our application. That would have been a costly, long-term mistake. So, in short, this is a scrappy young company with the all the benefit of experience of a much older company. Proceed without reservation."
