A few things really stood out. 1) He did a furnace flue piper install that he could have charged us much more for if he had wanted to take advantage of us - but he was honest and we paid less than we feared. He also went the extra mile helping my wife and I through a warranty claim with the furnace company so that we did not have to pay extra part costs. It was an unexpected need, but he was prepared with the part and worked with the manufacturer to get us covered. He was even able to better a previous repair. 2) On a home humidifier install, he made himself available on short notice, took time to answer our questions, and then showed us how to maintain the equipment ourselves so we wouldn't need to shelve out more for additional contracting work - even from him. "They came and inspected the sump pump. They recommended for it to be replaced. I was okay with it so they replaced it. They completed within half an hour. We then discussed the bill. They agreed to take off $50 because they have an Angie's List coupon that offers $50 off. There was also a coupon for $250 off a system installation for Angie's List members. I told them of this and they said it would only apply for HVAC units and I said to them that they are more than HVAC company, they provide more services than HVAC. They did not specify that its only for HVAC. The technician agreed and said that they're going to have to change that within our website. This was extremely misleading and felt like a bait and switch."

"Jim did a great job. He quickly assessed the problem and then took our unit with him to work on it more. When he got back to us, the fix would have cost more than it was worth. He gave us options for a new or refurbished PC. We felt the refurbished was a good deal and chose that. He came back and set that up and we are very happy with it. He then took a look at my laptop and again took it along. He tuned it up and installed a speed upgrade we wanted. Of course, we paid extra for the new unit and upgrades, but we thought the price was very fair. Jim seemed very knowledgeable and responsive. Dave Condin was the final person who came to do quality control. He is an amazing and talented person. He is fun to talk with and seems to be the ultimate problem solver.

A week after the installation we are now facing a heat wave, and I can already see the benefits of this program. My house does not heat up because of the attic. The air conditioning runs less frequently, and the house seem far more comfortable.

The best part is that PEPCO agrees to a rebate off the cost of the installation. This makes the process and unbelievable bargain.
