"Polar Bear offered a competitive quote, and what seemed a good solution for a somewhat tricky roof install for our AC. Problem is that we asked for a higher ton unit, fearing their initial recommendation would not be strong enough, but they did not follow through on that and installed a smaller unit. Lo and behold the AC does not work sufficiently for our home. They say it is because of poor duct work in our older home. That may be part of it, but the system cools worse than our old one did, before it conked out. After spending $10k on this system just a couple years ago, we just spent ANOTHER 10k for installation of supplemental AC systems (by another company) so our house can actually make it through the DC summer. Now our main floor cools great, but the upstairs, which relies on the AC system that Polar Bear installed, still struggles. I've had Polar Bear come out multiple times to see there is anything they could do to make the AC work better, and other than top up coolant, they haven't offered solutions. I'd not use them again, had more positive experience with another company that I just also reviewed here."

"Trevor and his team are top notch.  From the time we met to review our project to completion he was very responsive.  The day of installation the crew showed up at approx., 8:30 a.m. and it was a HOT day, we anticipated a two day install, but because it was hot the crew stayed until almost 8:00 p.m. that night to complete the entire installation.  I have already recommended Trevor to a co-worker who has used him also.  You can't go wrong with Trevor and his team they are all top notch and professional.

You know exactly what you’re going to get - skilled craftsmen who are on time, articulate the job well and get the work done correctly. While the service is a bit pricy and I would really like to see estimates presented with a by line item breakdown in the estimate, I understand those concerns are mitigated by the quality of craftsmanship and the excellent warranty period on installation/labor. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with our electricians and plumber when we had the dubious honor of needing an electrical panel and water heater replaced over the course of a weekend. The installation went extremely well.  Our Techs, Chad and Steven arrived promptly at 8 AM and immediately went to work.  And as a homemaker, I really appreciated the fact that they wore boot covers over their shoes to protect the carpeting.  Since this installation required going inside and outside many times, they also put down a protective plastic covering where they had to walk inside!  What else can you ask for!  They had the installation totally completed in the time frame we were told, approximately 5 hours, then took the time to explain the workings of the new thermostat,  There were both very polite and so cordial!  After they left, there was not one scrap of any debris and we are now enjoying our new A/C unit.  I also want to mention that Total Comfort did the original installation of all of our HVAC when we built our home almost 10 years ago, and we have kept a maintenance contract with them ever since.  When we had this problem, they were here immediately and had our unit installed in just a few days.  Total Comfort is an excellent company, with a wonderful group of employees, both in the field and office.  We will stay with them for all of our HVAC needs!

Each and every time they've come out - to install, adjust, or maintain - Climatic has been impressive. When we were looking for a replacement HVAC, Sonny Swann gave the most impressive evaluation and presentation, even recommending we NOT go for top of the line because the price to benefit wasn't there. He knew the systems and could explain them in laymen's terms. Each workman we've had out has been courteous and equally knowledgeable of the task. They aren't the least expensive, nor the most expensive, but I'm willing to pay a little for good knowledge and service!
Would that more businesses were as customer oriented! We'll definitely use them again."

"Outstanding installation and good pricing for Carrier HVAC (Heat Pump) system replacement. Salesman was prompt and thorough, although he did not provide us any brochures, booklets, etc. Installer was courteous, experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. Took the time to ensure system was thoroughly operational, confirmed electrical requirements and changed breakers accordingly, cleaned up all debris, and explained operation to us. However, since he was new to McCarthy's, he did not have any installation or service stickers or other company material. The sales representative had promised the following to us, included in sales/order form: one year free service, service information and schedule, copy of registration with Carrier. Three months later, we have not received any communication or follow up from McCarthy's -- despite our calling, texting and emailing the sales rep and office. This is our primary concern: the lack of follow up and poor responsiveness."
