We have used ASTAR for many years to service our central air.  On June 30th we had a bad thunderstorm that sent a power surge through our home and fried our central air, whole house fan and some other outlets.  ASTAR came and we were originally told that it would be approx. 3-4 weeks and take 2 days to install the new system because they were all booked up. We were ok with that since the weather for the next couple of weeks was going to be in the high 70's. 

The following week the weather changed and it was going to be warmer.  Knowing we had no central air ASTAR dropped off at our home, 2 brand new window air conditioners! WOW!  They would have dropped off as many as we wanted but really only needed them for 2 of the bedrooms. Don't know of any other company that would have done that!  Now the following week (7/13) we had totally forgot the we had relatives from out of state coming to spend a week with us (7/22-7/29) and the weather was going to be brutally hot!  We called ASTAR and explained our situation and are happy to report that they came on Saturday, July 18th and did the entire installation in one day!  They put an extra guy on so they could get the job done!  It has been over a month now of hot and humid weather and the system has been on since they installed it! We have noticed that this new system does a better job at keeping the house cool then the old one which was only 10yrs old.  We highly recommend this company and will continue to use them for our preventive maintenance.  We would have given them a rating of A++ if it was offered!

"The service man was great! He spent about an hour cleaning and adjusting. He explained everything he did.
But I had a slight hassle over the price I was quoted on the phone.
There was a $20.00 off the service advertised on Sure Temps website. When I asked the person scheduling the appointment about it she said that the price of the service would be $140.35 including tax minus the $20.00 for a total of $120.35. When I tried to pay the service man the $120.35 he said it was supposed to be $140.35, he called his company and the person he talked to said $140.35 unless I printed out the coupon. I don't have a printer, it didn't look like a coupon, and the service scheduling person did not say it was a coupon that I needed to print out. I called the office myself and mentioned that I got the name of their company from Angie's list and immediately they accepted the $120.35.
I think the service provided for the price was very good, but I don't like to haggle over prices once I have been given a quote.

"As noted above, the bathroom was COMPLETELY redone in its entirety.  I was advised of existing issues which, once shown,  obviously needed repair/replacement.  (No, I did not "just take his word").  These repairs did require significant  effort, but Sergiy kept to his estimate, and did not charge for the added work.  He insisted on showing receipts for all  materials purchased, literally down to the penny, and there was absolutely no markup on any purchases.  

Having dealt with several other contractors before, it was a refreshing change to deal with someone who was consistently  prompt, and did not attempt to "sell" what I did not need.  He held to his estimate and scheduling commitment, and was  actually able to finish the entire job days before the agreed-upon completion date.  I was impressed by the fact that he  has his own permanent crew, and does not use transient workers.  

The workmanship and attention to detail was self-evident. Note that they work over 8 hours a day, 6 days a week.  I've used contractors who barely work 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. It was also a pleasant surprise that they cleaned up the area and removed the debris on a daily basis.  At the end of the  job, the bathroom was immaculately "broom-swept clean", and usable immediately, with no cleanup on my part. Would I use Sergiy and his crew again, and recommend MYTOWNHANDYMAN?  YES!!!"

"CHW was very responsive to our urgent need! We filed a claim the evening prior when we notices our A/C was blowing warm air into the rooms. Then by 8AM the next day, we had a call from the service technician saying he was on his way to address the issue! CHW worked with the technician to find out the compressor was the culprit and approved it's repair! Great customer service for a family in need during the hot south central Texas summer!"
