"After a consultation with Kenny on the work I needed done, I hired VA Brick Doctor. Kenny repointed steps on the front and back porch, and repaired couple areas on porch where tiles were cracked and loose. Due to rainy weather I had to wait a few weeks before he could start but the wait was worth it. Kenny and his assistant arrived early and worked in hot, humid conditions. Kenny is easy to work with, meticulous, and knows his trade. I was very pleased with his work. It has been a year since the work was done and everything looks great."

"I have been going to Gary Allen for over a decade and the service (both nails and hair) have been consistently professional and meeting expectations. I never have a problem getting an appointment with someone and they always call to remind me and on occasion worked me in in a tight spot. I would think of going anywhere else."

"The two huge porch columns had been an issue since the house was originally constructed, which was really a shame because we really preferred the look of them. Not only did they need constant repair because of rot, they were dangerously built to be structural without the support of large center posts. After discovering a very large area of rot again last fall, my wife and I decided to finally have them rebuilt correctly. We were very concerned about more rot in nonvisible areas. I researched for about a week before I found Williamsburg Maintenance on Angi's List, reading every one of the reviews before I made the decision. I called last December and had a great conversation with Phil Nader. I described to him everthing we wanted and needed. After some conversations over the following few weeks, we decided to move forward. He explained from the beginning that they were really busy with some staffing issues. It took a few months to begin work, but he stayed in touch during that entire period. Shamus and Sherman began the teardown on July 18th, and construction was completed with fresh paint on July 22nd. The columns were done PERFECTLY!....with a lot of attention to detail, which I greatly appreciate. The were very professional, neat, efficient, and knowledgeable. I am very appreciative of the work done and very satisfied with the price charged."

"Sterling and his guys were very professional. They showed up on time and worked hard all day long. They even offered to fix a couple of issues in our yard. They cleaned up every evening, there was never any loose tools or equipment left out.Sterling gave us an update on the work every couple of days. They even worked in the rain, so they could get the next step done the following day without a delay. We are very pleased with the job they did. I would highly recommend them if asked."

"He was highly recommended on Angie's List, so I chose him. I dealt with two or three other chimney sweep companies in the area when I was buying the house. They were all awful. When I called this company, he came out the next day. He was there on time. He was able to do the work by the end of the week. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They charged me what they said they were going to charge. They were very good."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Yorktown, VA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
