"Hello, I am requesting assistance from a licensed plumber/gas fitter for gas service restoration at my property: 1239 Maple Ave. Baltimore, MD 21227 BGE has determined that the prior gas service was abandoned and is now processing the project as a new gas service line and exterior meter installation. BGE will be meeting me on-site on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM to review and approve the proposed exterior meter location. I need a licensed plumber/gas fitter who can either attend that BGE site visit or come immediately afterward to evaluate the work required on the customer side of the gas system. "EXCELLENCE! The team was amazing. We had a leak in the front yard and it took 'a minute' for the county to find our shut-off valve to determine it was our pipe. Gary from Heil came out on time to give an estimate and they were able to get Miss Utility out and do the work the same day, all in about 3 hours! They only had to dig one hole near the shut-off to replace the whole line. They also filled the hole back in AND SEEDED and put hay on top, and at my request wrapped caution tape around the area (so the area can dry out). The hole they had to drill in the wall in the basement was patched and their "Pullzit” method worked beautifully (I actually video taped it, it was awesome to see). Oh and they either took off their shoes or put on their own shoe covers when they came in the house (didn't have to ask). I own a house in Federal Hill that is currently tenant occupied.  The tenants alerted me that there was a gas smell in the kitchen, I called BGE and they came out, turned off gas, and BGE found two spots leaking gas, in the basement, which is under the kitchen.  They asked me to have a plumber check out, asap.  I went on Angie's list and received a call back from the owner of this company within 5 minutes ( it was around 8am on a weekday morning).  He was responsive, informative and really cared. He was at the property very quickly and found a leak at the piping for the hot water heater and also inspected the boiler, in which he said that it was time to get it replaced, and it was leaking gas, it was really old. He showed the tenants where the gas was coming from..He cemented the piping to the wall for the hot water heater.  He spent way over an hour with the tenants and another 45 minutes of the phone with me.  He also inspected the range and said he thought there might be a leak from the cable (which he was right), BGE did not pick up on that one.  He is very knowledgeable.  The range really needed to be replaced, it was old, and I ordered a new cable/range, when Best Buy delivered, they said they could not install, so I then called the owner of this company again, he was at an emergency repair, and he came by at 9:30 that night, after working another emergency repair all day, which was a sewer line, and installed the new range for the tenants. He had to then take apart the old range and haul it away because it would not fit thru the door.  I can not say enough how responsive and nice he is.  He really spent time making sure I understood everything, he is also a gas fitter, so he explained all that to me.  His costs are very very reasonable, I will recommend him to everyone I know.  I also called him about what kind of cable I needed for the new range when I was ordering it, and he spent more time going over exactly what I needed to order and what material was best. I called him again for advise when I was interviewing HVAC contractors.

"Excellent! Being on a limited budget, I had called several plumbers to get an affordable price. I had spoken with some very nice people, but James Fama owner of Quality Plumbing was the only person who actually listened to me. I told him that I was fairly certain of what the problem was because in younger years I had fixed it myself. He was the only plumber that quoted me a price on exactly what I wanted fixed. Some of the other plumbers quoted outrageous prices for some ridiculously unnecessary work, some scoffed at what I said the problem was, but not James. He genuinely listened, asked questions and even though I did not know the lingo he knew what I was talking about. He did quote "worse case scenario" prices to me just in case and even those were quite fair. Mr. Fama came at the scheduled time and went right to work. The job was done quickly and precisely as we had discussed. It went so smooth in fact, that I asked him to fix a pipe for a sink that hadn't worked in years. He had to go to Home Depot to get the part but, he was very quick about it and had the sink fixed in a very timely manner. Mr. Fama did not waste a lot of time talking when he got here because he went straight to work, but after the job was finished we did chat a little bit. He is a quiet, very likeable and amiable man. He said that he was a small business with only one truck and that it is hard to compete with the "fleet of truck" businesses sometimes. That statement got me thinking that I was more impressed with this hard working man of his word than I could ever have been with those larger companies who in some cases seem to have forgotten the "human aspect" of the job. It is my sincere hope that the people who read this will consider giving the smaller businesses like Quality Plumbing a fighting chance. Bigger may not always be the more prudent choice. In closing I would like to add, that being a disabled, senior citizen it is so hard to find companies with integrity, as many of you may already know. Therefore; I would recommend Quality Plumbing to all Senior Citizens as well as anyone with a handicap or disability because I was treated with honesty, fairness and respect. I asked Mr. Fama to give me a big handful of his business cards to carry in my purse, so I could hand them out to everyone. This is the kind of "word of mouth" advertising that Quality Plumbing has earned and whole heartedly deserves."

"EXCELLENT MASTER PLUMBER!!! Robert replaced my 23 year-old water heater earlier this month (12/01/17). I wasn't experiencing any problems with the water heater other than the facts that it was old, inefficient, and I was on "borrowed time" as far as the life expectancy for water heaters go. After completing a request on Home Advisor, Robert contacted me. I told him what I needed to replace, he gave me an estimate and we scheduled a date for the work to be completed. Robert was prompt. efficient, respectful and personable. He has a good sense of humor, too. The price he quoted/charged was fair and reasonable. I am more than satisfied with his work. As other customers have indicated, Robert is a very knowledgeable and experienced Master Plumber. (His registrations/certifications/licenses are current and compliant.) After he replaced my hot water heater, I asked him to check a water leak that I discovered in my basement. He investigated the leak and confirmed that the source of the leak was a pipe in my home fire sprinkler system (installed in 1992 when the house was built.) My next questions were, "Can you repair it? And if so, when?" Robert advised me on what would be required to make the repair and he gave me a very fair estimate for the cost for materials and labor. Two days ago he came out and repaired the leak in my home fire sprinkler system. Again, he and his apprentice/helper were very professional, efficient, respectful, personable and on point with doing the job properly. The location of the leak in the copper pipe was not in an easy-to-get-to spot; however, Robert was able to adjust, adapt and get the job done. He's a true professional. I will definitely use R.W.
