"Pete, did an excellent job. He instructed me how to shut off the water after hours. Then came on time to service my water treatment equipment. Repaired and showed me exactly what the problem was. He answered all my questions. The cost was acceptable. I would hire Pete again."

"Update from 20 Jan 2026: I`ve been a repeat customer of Keep Smiling Plumber, Electrical, Heating and Cooling in the past for several home-related repairs. After having an unfortunate experience with Keep Smiling PEHC during my most recent service, I had some misgivings about the company and whether I would return as a customer. In regards to their customer service, everyone that I`ve engaged with (technicians, onsite supervisor, receptionist) has always been professional and courteous which goes a long way with me. The issue that I had was technical in nature and left me with some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work. After speaking with leadership of this organization Mr. Powell and Ms. Amy ,I believe that they hold the highest standards and expectations for their employees and ensure that any work-related issues are duly addressed/resolved. I can sincerely say that they have regained my confidence and trust in contacting them in the future for my future HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing home needs. The manager I spoke with told me that there wasn`t any way the damage of the pump could come from the technician doing a drain and flush of the water heater. He told me that it would cost $1200 to replace the pump on the water heater. After speaking with the manager at Keep Smiling, I called another company which I`ve seen before in the community and spoke with a plumber and explained to him what happened. The technician at the other company told me that the pump could definitely be damaged if the pump was still plugged up and not turned off while the water heater was being drained and flush. I called the manager at Keep Smiling and shared those details with him and he replied that he understands what I`m saying but there was nothing he could do about it. I told him that I don`t have any reason to lie about any of this and felt very frustrated and cheated by the fact that I went in expecting for them to do a maintenance check for $59 for plumbing but ended up spending a $1000 for new. FAQs for water treatment & purification system repair or service projects in Alpharetta, GA

If your water softener is over 10 years old or if repair costs approach the price of a new unit, it might be time to replace it. Most water softeners last between 10 and 15 years. Replacing an aging unit can improve your water quality and help you avoid frequent repair costs. For a newer system with minor issues, repairing may be the best option. Consider the age and condition of your system to decide what's most cost-effective.

Water treatment systems remain dependable for 10 to 20 years with proper maintenance and care. A well-maintained system secures full performance by following a scheduled upkeep plan and professional inspections. Consistent maintenance guarantees continuous water purification, ensuring that the system operates at its peak efficiency and delivers high‑quality water throughout its lifespan.

Faulty water softeners exhibit clear symptoms that signal the need for immediate attention. Noticeable mineral build-up around faucets, discolored water, dry or itchy skin following a shower, and altered laundry texture indicate that the system is underperforming. Recognizing these issues early and addressing them promptly prevents further damage and maintains optimal water quality. Early intervention ensures that your water system continues to operate reliably and efficiently.
