"The rep came to our house and tested our water, which was found to be really good water. We still wanted an RO system and he explained our options. He did not upsell us on the highest end products, but educated us on our choices and we chose a system that worked for us. The follow up service over time has been outstanding. They even came to repair a part we had broken and only charged us for the part. Outstanding company with employees who go above and beyond."

"I called Henco’s after I had another company come out and give me and estimate and to look at our water heater. The first company immediately gave me the doom and gloom “this water heater’s going to blow up at anytime, you need to replace it today”! (They just so happened to have a new one in their truck) I said I’d get back to them and then promptly called the second plumber on my list. The owner was very kind and gave me his opinion without trying to get business. I asked if he could come out and give an estimate on repair/replacement, he had someone here within a couple hours. Owen was very nice and honest, he said our water heater was NOT going to blow up, but it was leaking (we already knew, that’s why we called). He didn’t push any sales on us but we asked for a quote on replacement. His quote was MUCH less than the previous guy and Owen explained the differences in the water heaters available. We placed our order, a few days later they came and installed it. The two guys who came were very nice and professional, did an awesome job and answered all my questions. I HIGHLY recommend this company."

"Our CPVC house piping had a lot of water hammer. After turning on the washing machine, I walked out for a moment, and then when I came back in water was dripping from the ceiling exhaust fan onto the washing machine. We have a two story house and they ran the hot water plumbing from the water heater in the garage through the laundry room ceiling. I removed the exhaust fan and could see water dripping from a tee way back beyond reach. The water hammer from the washer likely caused the fitting to start leaking. I turned the house water supply off and sent a message to Simpson plumbing through Angie's list. A lady from Simpson plumbing contacted me right away the next morning. She was courteous, but was having a hard time understanding what the problem was. Maybe I was giving too much information or something, but when the plumbers arrived later that afternoon they didn't understand what was going on. I ran through what happened again and showed them the wet spot on the ceiling. They had to cut an opening in the ceiling and we turned the water on and confirmed the leak. We moved my washing machine out of their way and they cut out the CPVC tee and replaced it with PEX. The piping was brittle so it took him a couple of attempts to get a straight cut which is why I called them to mess with it. After installing the PEX tee, we were leak free and at my request they provided a reference for the drywall repair. He also advised getting some water hammer arrestors installed on the supply lines to the washing machine to stop the water hammer, which I have since done."

"well... the work was done by Ecowater Northwest who is no longer. Reason for the review is that when I stopped hearing from Ecowater Northwest, I found out they were bought out by Culligan. Which is confusing because if you google Ecowater Northwest, you get Wolfer's Heating whose website claims they now own EcoWater Northwest. It seems Culligan got all the old customer files from Ecowater Northwest and Wolfer's got the rights to carry the Ecowater brand going forward. So I called Culligan last year and they found my file from Ecowater Northwest and they said they could support me for replacement filters for the systems that EcoWater Northwest had installed in my home. Great. For a while.
Fast forward to today.. I haven't heard from Culligan since July of this year. The way Ecowater Northwest operated, they would send notices to their customers when it was time to replace filters. I have 4 different filters in my systems and sure hope Culligan is tracking it. The Ecowater RO filters are proprietary and not allowed for sale on the internet - so you are locked in to a Ecowater dealer. Who is it.. Culligan? or Wolfer's? Who's going to continue the maintenance agreement of notifying legacy Ecowater Northwest customers that it's time to replace filters?

"Amazing. We noticed right before bed on a Sunday night that our water heater was REALLY dripping from the relief valve. Before even logging into my Angie’s list account, my fiancée used the Angie’s List matching service and we entered in our phone number. Not just a plumber, but a water heater expert called us back the SAME night - I mean, like 10 minutes later - and they had us scheduled for the next day!!! They arrived when they said they would and totally knew what they were doing. Better yet, they had all the equipment they needed right nearby and even when they had to deliver the bad news (a leaky relief valve usually means a water heater that may be overfilling/ready to overflow), they solved it for us in a matter of hours. The price was reasonable. I’d looked into replacing the tank a few years earlier and I’ll swear the price they charged me today is cheaper than what Home Depot had quoted me back in 2015."

"Don,t count on CHW for emergency repairs; water heater problem...3 days before anyone could come out...contacted my own service... no reimbursement from CHW. Otherwise wait time is usually 3 to 7 days for assessment then more time for actual work. The repair services have done exceptional work. One service was rescheduled 3 times by company for assessment only.. took another 2 weeks for parts and repair. Another company made instant assessment and repair. Usually $65 for service fee. AC system was replaced with a known brand, but I still had out of pocket expenses of which I was notified ($650). Lousy call center outside US...scripted. Very frustrating trying to explain issues and understanding replies. Companies hired by CHW did exceptional work. No complaints other than scheduling. Will investigate other companies when contract expires."

FAQs for water treatment & purification system repair or service projects in Portland, OR

If your water softener is over 10 years old or if repair costs approach the price of a new unit, it might be time to replace it. Most water softeners last between 10 and 15 years. Replacing an aging unit can improve your water quality and help you avoid frequent repair costs. For a newer system with minor issues, repairing may be the best option. Consider the age and condition of your system to decide what's most cost-effective.

Water treatment systems remain dependable for 10 to 20 years with proper maintenance and care. A well-maintained system secures full performance by following a scheduled upkeep plan and professional inspections. Consistent maintenance guarantees continuous water purification, ensuring that the system operates at its peak efficiency and delivers high‑quality water throughout its lifespan.

Faulty water softeners exhibit clear symptoms that signal the need for immediate attention. Noticeable mineral build-up around faucets, discolored water, dry or itchy skin following a shower, and altered laundry texture indicate that the system is underperforming. Recognizing these issues early and addressing them promptly prevents further damage and maintains optimal water quality. Early intervention ensures that your water system continues to operate reliably and efficiently.
